Perhaps we should put our shoulder to the grindstone?

The 100 Year Starship (100YSS) is a joint U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) grant project to a private entity. The goal of the study is not to have the government fund the actual building of spacecraft, but rather to create a business plan that can last 100 years in order to help foster the research needed for interstellar travel.[1][2][3]
Should we hope Exxon can make a profit from going to Mars?
interesting! Hope exxon can die. Only eco conscious tech should be the focus. So by the 100 year mark we will have gained another million years on earth and be ready to travel. If it's all exxon and the dinosour fuckers than we know what their end game for screwing the planet is.

There are resources in space and no natives to kill to get at them.

There is lots of room in space.

We are running out of both here on Earth.

Even if we can't go to the next stars, we certainly can develop the solar system.

It is more humane to just euthanize them now, what with the US pullout of Paris agreement. I can't stand the thought of puppies burning up in our environment!
we won't be out of the paris accord until the day we have a new president elect who puts us right back in it.

quit swallowing donald trump's cum already. sheesh.

Is it just me, or is it getting hot in here?
The last several years have all set new records for global high temperatures, by increasing margins.

The only way this year won't follow the same trend is if there's a big volcano or nuclear war.

I live up the road from a world respected atmospheric science department at my University.

They speak carefully but they must suck at poker, because the looks on their faces totally give away how worried they are about climate trends.

Are you really going to worry about a bet if the latter happens?
I'm not worried about him taking the bet in the first place.

The point is that the planet is warming up. Fast. The rate of change is accelerating. The largest iceberg in human history is cracking off of Antarctica... In the middle of the Southern Winter.

If you live within 5 feet of sea level and less than a mile from the shore, I suggest moving.
