Don't tell me this man you'll get my hopes up.
I've seen 21 O from a 400w lamp based on Gen5 Vero 29s. 42% efficiency by running them at low current. Current cob technology almost 3 years later is better than that at nominal current.

The output on that lamp was 350 watts, and at 42% efficiency it provided 147 par watts. 588 grams / 147 = 4 grams per par watt. If you know your par wattage then you can get an idea of what a yield expectation can be, 3.7 - 4 or maybe a little more per par watt if everything is straight.

I want to build a new light for my 2'x2'. I already have a spare hlg 185 c1400B. I want to go with a single heatsink between 16-20" but as short as possible, maybe even pin heatsinks with aluminum angle. Would 2 cxb3590 at 72v work for this setup?

I plan to put a PC fan on it for cooling. does this sound good or would you guys change some things? It's going to be for a veg tent.

There's a chance of going under the min voltage but I suspect they will fire up. Or go with three and a pot and cut the current down til you're just under 110 watts. That would give you about 60 par watts, about the same light as running 2 72v at 1.4 amps. More than enough to flower under. For veg you could actually turn them down to 80-90 watts and be happy with it.

A pot is a type of dimmer, short for potentiometer. A potentiometer will have 3 solder lugs, one of the two dim wires contacts the center lug and the other wire contacts one of the other two (which one changes whether turning left or right to dim).

Hiya guys I've recently moved in to indoor growing and bought a cheap LED to get going. I'm getting good results but think I need an upgrade now. I'm looking for a veg & flower function with the light to penetrate my stealth box 130/60/60 cm. I have around £250-350 to spend. I know it's not going to be a top of the range but please all advice is greatly appreciated
