IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

I thinking about setting up a grow cab and need a little help on the lighting my cab will be 2'x4' my growing style will be scrog so far ive got 2 options im looking at #1 http://area51lighting.com/the160.html and #2 xml 150 http://www.advancedledlights.com/3w-led-grow-lights/new-diamond-series-xml-10w-cree-xml/ my guess is either one I choose I would probably need 2

^^^get a51's. They use all quality cree chips...not just a few. And they are more affordable for a better quality light. 2 a51's would be more than perfect for you space too.

do you think it is possible to yield a pound off 2 of those panels really no clue what to expect from leds

2 Area51s would be 320 watts. 1 gram per watt is ok in the beginning.
Personally, I don't scrog (too much time wasted vegging) I semi-sog? In a 2'x4' tray I put 8 plants in 3gallon Airpots with coco/perlite. Hand water, drain to waste.
Short veg, plants finish between 18 and 24 inches. INDICA DOMINANT work best for me.
360 grams + is doable.

sound's reasonable ill make 400 grams my goal and be real happy with 300+

Hello everyone, looking at replacing my 400 watt hps in a 2x2x5 tent with led. Not exactly sure what brand to go with but I found a wholesaler in my area with a decent selection. http://www.canadaledlighting.com/led-grow-lights-c-262.html If anyone can point me in the direction to a good one for replacing my 400 watt in my tent that would be dope. I noticed they come with warrantes which is importnat if im spending this kind of cash. Thanks

For those outrages prices ($429-4 spot/module) on rebranded chinese panels you can get quality hand built american panel with all OSRAM leds http://www.rhinogrow.com/RhinoGrow_400_Series.php for $499 which will blow away most "300w" chinese crap due to higher emitter efficiency with less power!!............ Rhino 400 IS NOT equal to a 400w hps in coverage though.

Thanks for the response. Iv been shopping around more and found better options but I would rather deal with a Canadian company so I dont have to worry about duty fees and all that other crap.

Well they are based out of Michigan........area 51 lighting is another option for you, can ask them what the shipping cost is to Canada, its free in the USA.

Personally at this point in the led game, its worth it to pay for quality......seen so many growers Chinese gear break mid flower and get fucking pissed off. not worth it IMO,I can give you some recommendations on quality gear if you need it.

I was talking to the owner and he said a Diamondbrite4 is equivalent to a 400 watt hps. I would love to be able to grow without tons of fans and having my grow tent reach up to 35 degrees.

Forgot to mention because I found this guy on kijiji he said he would knock another 30% off the retail price of 490 so it would be around 350 pretty sure.

NOPE!!!...............$490 for a 4 spot chinese panel is ridiculous, look at all his stuff he sells and tell me if you see a diff to this http://cidly.com/ their isn't any.. except you can get that exact model shipped to your door for $130 from cidly.

He's telling you that it's equal to a 400w hps!! really?, that's a pure lie........tell him to come in here and say that BS.

I'll tell you again BUY QUALITY or go dimmable HID system. save the headache and your $$$$

Not for a complete grow. Most people think they're shit, but you could probably veg a small plant. You'll need to add lights to flower though. Sunshine Systems aren't very good for marijuana. They're for house plants IMO.

thanks jcmjrt, franjan. built 3 12" panels this morning. 7reds, 5redoranges, 5royalblue, 4warmwhites, 4coolwhites, each. used a variety of optics to kinda play around with them.
they do run warm. i will have to get another fan to exchange more air in the tent. right now im leaving the door open during the day with a fan directly outside.

good suggestions all around. im going to stay with what i have now and see what comes of it. thanks for the scrog suggestion. i had no idea what that was. very interested to try it now. thanks again

Looking to replace 2 600 watt hps and 1 400 watt hps in my flower room I have a black star 240 works great for veg but thats it. I also run 6 135 watt 7 band htg supply ufos they work great but the plants are also getting hps... space is 4x10 ready to spend 2-3k. I grow in coco 1/2 sog 1/2 scrog. Plants are in the 3 foot range when finished bottom 16 inches lolly poped. If you need more info let me know.
