Id say around 600 to 800 watts im guessing though. heres something you might find interesting. i didnt check if he used cob lighting though just led vs HID
the AT600 uses 3 watt leds. 6100k white and 630nm red. at a 4:1 or 3:2 ratio depending on option chosen at $2499 it seems a little expensive. I think adding a few 630nm leds to a DIY COB light would produce equal or better results since the DIY Cobs are more effiecient. this is actually an older design and 3000k leds have become much more effiecient since this light was first introduced.

what you think best led kelvin range for faster flowering is? 3000k or higher like the 5000k? metal halide's seem to get better trichomes but flower longer with smaller yeilds but im not ure with LEDs
I too am concerned about a drop in trichomes and resin production. California light works addressed this by adding T8 UV fluorescent bulbs to their light. I grow MMJ for a cancer victim and am more interested in quality than quantity.if my current test with vero18 4000ks results in lower resin production I may try adding 6500k T5 side lights to see if that improves resin production. California light works may be on the right track

Yes of course drivers can be run at max power. How much power a cob is at max depends on which one you are looking at. In this case I'd go with vero29 since there will be no benefit of running a cree cxb this hard. Hlg600h-42 x2 and 4 vero29 on each driver. So 8 vero29 total. Not very efficient but cheap per par watt. A if you want built in dimming b if you want external dimming
why vero over cxb?? i'm still kinda new to cobs.

i want get the most power out of my cxb 3590 while getting the most light out of them without damamging them does that make sense. so i want the most effiencient powerful and running at max power without negative effect

most efficient vs most powerfull and running at max power are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

e.g. running vero or cree cobs at a current below nominal will run more efficiently than one run at max power.

you need to review the different cobs and choose a sweet spot that fits your needs.

1400 driven watts would be the most I'd run in that space. If you ran 2000 watts I doubt you would see a 10% increase in yield over 1400 honestly. That would put you at over 1000 PPFD which is overkill still for short ladies.

So I have a quick question for you builders, what is the recommended tap and screw size for mounting the Ideal CXB3070 holders to a heatsink? Metric preferably.

Installation Instructions:
1. Preinstall M3 #4 or #5 pan head screws into luminaire. (Except 50-2234C/50-2204CT)
2. Hold CHIP-LOK™ holder in one hand; LED array in other hand.
3. Locate and align the “+” marking on both products.
4. Set LED array into holder so that the edge of array touches side of spring leg. (Figure 2)
5. Push array toward spring leg and down to seat into holder. (Never install holder without COB array.) Energizing luminaire without COB array installed could cause electrical shorting to heatsink.
6. Apply thermal paste/pad to array or heatsink (Max. pad thickness of 0,5mm)
7. Insert holder/array assembly over screws through keyways (Figure 3) and rotate holder clockwise (Except 50-2234C/50-2204CT). 8. Tighten screw farther from spring leg first. 9. Torque screws to 0.3 – 0.5 N-m (2.5 – 4.5 in-lb). Contact IDEAL for a proper torque if using thread forming screws.

If you want COB but don't want to diy another option you might consider would be some Area 51 W90s. You can pick up 6 for under 1K and then have the ability to move the lights as you see fit. Great option if you'd like a modular set up. I'm vegging with 4 4000Ks at the moment and the plants are loving the light. I'm completely new to the LED and COB world but have been real happy with my A51s thus far. Will add the other two during flower.

Hi again ive decided not to grow canna but chillis as itsa security risk for me sharing a place with a friend and renting but im not sure if chillis need the power of cobs compared to canna?
Should i just stick with the mars 300watt light and grow a really hot chilli plant under that? i know this is a canna site but i havent seen any good sites for chillis and love reading about canna too.
