Is there anything else you can recommend? even if it requires two or three fixtures that wouldn't exceed $300 and possibly something listed on a well known website without a 1-3 week wait time. I have never heard of this company and no one carry's their product, and that wait time is just a deal breaker.
opticgrowlights 120watt vero18 5000k would be the cheapest besides the A51s. If your really looking for a replacement for the 400watt HID it would be 200 to250watts vero18/29 5000K but its like $450 to $550.

I'm assuming those are just parts? My searches just end up with parts.

So unless I take on the hassle of learning how to build my own LED light, there is nothing on the market that is pre built and can compete with a 400w mh for under $400-500??

The A51s or heavenbright V2 your best bet IMO

The price and the wait is just not an option for me right now, I think I'll just grab another cheap 400w MH for the time being. I plan on ditching MH/HPS all together around tax time when I can afford two high end LED lights, I may even build my own once I have the time to invest into learning how.

Just wondering is this light here crap or what? its about $100 I could afford two.. http://www.apollohorticulture.com/LED-panel-300w.html

Look for something with Cree xte in the fixture or stay with MH until you can upgrade to vero or cxb
I personally would never consider the Apollo fixture.

Ok will do, thanks for the help by the way.

I'm going to do just that, get another MH for now and keep saving for a good LED light that can compete with my 1000w.

I knew these LED lights claiming to replace 400w MH for under $200 were bull-crap, thanks for confirming.

Sorry to skip around here, But is the apollo fixture simply not performing? or is it just a personal thing? I really wonder if two of the 300w apollo units would be equal or greater than a 400w MH.

I mean I'll take your word for it you seem to know what you're talking about.

The main problem I have is they use to much wattage for coverage area. I call them hotboxes and they not worth anything to me.
I would def stay 400 MH if the Apollo is your other option. The MH would be more reliable. Apollo will have emitters out probably within 6months

Hmm but do they perform? Do two of the 300w units produce better results than one 400w MH? I'm sure you haven't test this yourself but based off the technical specifications, would two of these apollo units perform as well as one 400w MH? I'm sure these Apollo units have to run cooler than a 400w MH? even with two of them running.

Sure they work, until the emitters go out within 6 months
Here is a $1250 china mono that didn't last a year.

I'm almost half tempted to roll the dice and give them a try unless someone confirms they are junk and that a 400w MH would blow them out of the water.

Now that would be a problem.. 6 months is a joke, is this something that happens often with Apollo LED products?

Although they do offer a limited 2 year warranty, I can't help but think product failure during normal use would be covered, then again who wants to deal with all that?
