Thats a lot of lights! Any other options? How will the temperature be?
You can make 8 panels like these but it will run you about $5600 but you can wait like the others said for the A51's new light coming out with the Vero's it would be worth your wild lol.

What type of tools do you need to diy? And is there a way you can guide me in the right direction?

Hey. I ordered two platinum leds and was able to cancel the shippment after I read some bad things about them on this forum. Thinking about ordering 2 area 51 R150 lights now. I hear area 51 is coming out with new lights soon...think now is a bad time to buy from them?

The RW lights are proven producers and a quality light. The new A51 light is a Vero 2 COB based light and is suppose to be available in June and should have a lower per watt price.

I currently flower in a 7'9" x 11'6" room using about 4' by 11'6" with 3 1kw lights 2 hps and an MH in the middle. with summer coming I would like to replace the middle 1kw with led to help save on cooling exc. I have read allot on leds vs hps but have not came across the best way to mix them. A full 1kw replacement may not be needed due to the overlap of the other lights. I would like to know if any of you have some advice on the best way to replace that one light factoring cost vs quality. It seems like A51 is the way to go and the new COB would be best but I can imagine they will be sold out for months when the new unit is released. I dont mind a little older tech if the price is right.

What's your budget and have you considered DIY?

If I could keep it around $800 to $1k I would feel better about the roi. DIY is possible but I have no clue what to buy. if the labor involved worked out to saving more than $20 per hour invested I could go that route. I have read through a few DIY builds and I am capable of doing it. Just not sure on the brands of all the parts exc.

Thank you for taking the time to help out! I will read over those more closely and see if I can figure it out
Your welcome, here's a couple thread's you might want to read also. Two ways to power COB's are a separate driver for each COB or a larger driver to power multiple COB's. Larger drivers carry higher voltages and are more dangerous to work with so be careful if you go that route and follow the instructions from knowledgeable members.
