So? Have some fun with them, start a discussion. As an agnostic and understanding the societal and psychological dynamics of religion I sure do.
Sounds like to me you're being a bit disrespectful and un-cooperative. In the company of Christians I bow my head when they give prayer, thanks, at the dinner table. My company knows I know it's bullshit, but I go along to get along. Prayer does not hurt anyone. It's just another feel-good thing that some people do. Now, when they advertise their religious Holier-Than-Thou crap on Facebook trying to look righteous and "good", that's when I get pissed.
I've mentioned this before and won't embellish much more but every religion was designed, was scripted, to provide order to people's lives and the collective. Christianity uses guilt and fear to control but it also teaches other excellent credos like "love they neighbor" or "turn the other cheek". Fear - "If you don't behave you're going to hell!" All societys' laws are based on the dominant faith of that country.
As a student of comparative religions in college, an elective course. I'm here to tell you the 10 Commandments are the best rules for a civilized society and one reason why I'm pissed that prayer has been taken out of school. It's always the minority that fucks up this country and I'm tired of it. (yes, that includes the gay movement) Look at most kids these days in the bigger cities. They're spoiled undisciplined brats with little regard for others' property and rights. They've got this entitlement mentality of "hurray for me, fuck you". Right
@schuylaar ?
