Ideal NPK?

Supposedly it's 3-1-2 for veg and 1-3-2 for flower. Personally I like something a little more balanced like 1-1-1 for veg and 1-2-2 for flower.

awh that is the question that has plag gardener's since npk came about well to start in resent years the figuard out the a high K rather than n is better for vegging floweing plants so like a 1-3-5 is better for veg cause the plants grow less leaves but a bigger Stem and better transport system for the flowering but on leaf crops like lettce a higer N is still preferd Than the phosphorus delima yes its true that hydro and soiless gardens use less P cause it remains in the system and doesnt get flush out a often as in reglar agr/cuture but somtimes nuetrent companys try to use less P manley because it cost alot to chelt phosphorus Also it is only avable to the plants in the form of
P2O5 two parts phosphorus for evey 5 Oxyogen molicules ... so when you see a npk of like 2-7-4- only 2% of this phosphorus is actlully phosphorus while potash is k20 two potassium for one oxygen so yet again the rate is one 2 of the actuall potassium
Nitrogen is --nitrate is No3 yet again the oxgen factor and Nh+4 is amuimnom sorry about spelling so the npk system kind of a joke it doesnt really measure the contants of whats in the bottle in a fair system that tells you how much of each element you getting

I am also interested in this as well. Im new to trying to understand the npk ratios but am wanting to learn the science of growing. So when you say its useless....your right to an extent unless you can understand how to properly balance different metals and minerals.

b i have seen really good reslutes with a 1-3-2 as homebrewer was suggeting a little higher p seems to do some magic or a phosphorus addtive like bat gauno or the ch-ching or monster bloom seems to really help in flower especaley late flower but some companys will use a -1-2-4 and suplment a high phosphorus for high potash and it works out pretty good anther thing you need to look at is a 5-5-5 fertlizer is the same as a 10-10-10 or a 20-20-20 its the same /// some fertlizer ive tryed seen work really well are Fox farm , General hydroponics , Dyna Grow , botanicare , Cutting edge , Bc, dutch masters all worked well and all had there pro's and cons im now ganna try AN new 3 part seen how that works out But the hunt for the perfect npk can drive a man mad i belevle that one npk might not be perfect for all stages of flower that through out the plants life the chemical need of the plant change to grow flower than to grow friut are two deffent things and in flower cell are divinding and in fruiting cells are enlarging im still working on the need of the plant during these times but idont thing simpley increasing the Tds as plants get bigger is really cutting it you know
