IDEAL LIGHTING FOR 2.5x3.5×6.5 CLOSET

Hey guys I'm trying to chose between either a 400watt hps/mh ballast or a single 300watt led. The closet can heat up quickly so I'm eiffy on the hps/mh but I can obviously vent it, it's getting panda plastic put up in it this Friday all around the closet. But I'm just trying to figure out what would be best any a dive would be great!

I can tell you this:

The way you go with lighing starts you down a road that can be altered, but can be expensive if changes are in order....

Read up on which lighting - It's all good - Just depends on your growing room circumstances.

Nutrients/Organic: Both provide great ways to grow - What ingredients to use? - Check out past threads on it.

Asking for specific brands, etc. There are many many good brands that many people like, best to check past treads.



Reason why I'm not much help? If I were to start suggesting what I "think" is the best this or that - More people will chime in and strongly disagree with me. In the end you will have to try and figure it out for yourself.

Are you growing in a tent? If so 400w hid with air cooled hood all day

@Final Phase well I've been growing with a 150 watt hps lately and only growing 1-2 plants at a time I grow all organic, and tbh I've done allot of research on both I'm leaning towards led right now because of the very little bit of heat it puts off, but see with his I can always get a aircooled tube and I completely agree with the fact that it will most likely start an argument once people start saying which is better etc.

I've grown with both and just prefer hids. Its all up to you. I think obviously reasons people steer away from hids is the heat. Yes, I'm not going to lie when I went on a 3 day vaca this week my 1000w that kicks on at 530 was in the back of mind, but way back because I know my fresh air intake that's cooling my hood is dialed in.

4 or 6 hundred hps will do you just fine.

hps.....led full spec good but better to mix em only one light a 300 led is like xmas tree lights strength save little for 600 and vent

400 hps.. Air cooled hood. Vent the heat out to a window or large room or attic or extra bathroom..
Cheap LED is never the way to go. As mentioned the CMH is sweet.

I grew veg and bloom with area-51 leds around 400w start to finish. Area-51 are top of the line leds. Perhaps with a few more leds I would have done better but with leds I found my main stem to be much thinner and weaker than when I grew with t5s in veg then switching to hps in flower. From now on I will use led as supplemental lighting. Good luck- Ds
