ice water extraction...

hello, everyone I just got done running a batch though my new bubble now machine and it seems I didn't get a very good extraction...

I hade about 200g of wet trimm frozen for over 24 hr. I used mostly home made ice in the bottom of the machine some in the work bag and a mix of store bought and home made on top then filled it to just below the ice level. I let it sit for 5 min. and it froze into a block I had to break it up a bit to get it to move... I set it for 15 min.

once it stoped I drained it through my 160-73-25 bags and started to wash it down and collect it... got a lot of green in there I washed down the work bag and ice in the machine and ran it again while I was collecting the first batch. it of course came out greener but the problem was when I removed the bag I put the ise in the machine into my crock pot and dumped my trim in ad noticed a lot of trichomes still attached which is good for my butter but not so much for my extraction skills. I don't know where I went wrong

Its all about the quality of your trim first off. Second if its your first time with the machine dont get too dissapointed. Third freezing it into a block wasnt really good if you get too much ice you want sharp edges. I never run my stuff in my machine longer than 5 mins its too much agitation for me. You end up getting alot of plant material running the first run that long. I spent a couple hundread bucks on the machine and still have only used it a handful of times. I prefer hand stirred until i can get that machine down. Hopefully after some outdoor stuff i should have it figured out. Dont get dissapointed you dont become hash man over night. Maybe its the trim you had or if i was you i would get some more bags than what you have like a 90 and 120. With no pictures i really cant tell you anything.

You use too much ice and not enough water + a bag holding your trims I imagine, you need a lot of ice cold liquid to have the trichomes fall, not a mass of ice. Got a thread going on Hashish. Check it up

Ahhhh thank you Frenchy, I did use a bag for my trim, first time I've ever used a bag. Also had more ice than water that beat up trim rather than separate trichomes

I made the exact same mistake when I first got my washer a few years ago. Keep at it.
