Ice Block Breeding

running a ice cold winter greenhouse breeding experiment
i took all of the dirt containers from this years g/h grow and made a huge circle with just enough room in the middle for my jilly bean male and my bubbaskush female
they will take 2 weeks or even 3 b4 we see pistils and balls explode im expecting
i also took double clear trash bags to complete the top of the circle making a hillbilly greenhouse inside another greenhouse
im curious to see how cold they can handle.....this is a crude primitive attempt of creating a heat sink (the g/h on a sunny day will have about 30 degrees increase inside compared with outside)
pics to come next time i do a checkup

I have had some problems with proper seeding during cold times.
Be aware that your male will release pollen much slower when cold as well.
On the other hand its a weed and it will probably adapt if you do.

atm i dont have a seperate area for my hillbilly breeding and i figured the g/h is a good place to experiment
living in neohio i dont think it will b successful........i would have to kill the male anyway so its worth a try
and btw bubbakush x jillybean just sounds dank

I like the sq dom varieties that have more of a candy smell, the Orange female yield more and create larger colas

here are 2 pics from the experiment
i need to add more containers of dirt around and water them to get more warming effect
2nd thought is that even if the male dies on me and the female creates some buds ill just take some JB pollen (freezer) and hit it a touch to see what happens
notice those massive fan leaves on the bbk

true dat! I put my JTR male in the garage under floros 3 weeks ago & still no pollen! I just moved him in the house last night & today he already looks more like he should of 2 weeks ago. It's been a cold sum bitch out there 

im not as worried about the male as i have some pollen in the freezer
the male looks a bit droopy.....while the bubbakush seems like shes very cold tolerant
this could possibly work........worst case is ill just finish her in the garage under a cfl

You have some Jilly Beans eh? I have a few thinking about poppin' next season. What you think about the smoke? Any kind of report on it? Also, how big is your greenhouse? You could make a safe organic heater if you have 30 sq. ft. to spare. If you make a compost pile out of hay and horse manure, mixed at the right proportions, the center of the pit can reach temps. up to 180 degrees f. It would seep through the pile and def. warm your space. Just a thought...

the g/h jilly bean run didnt work out great for me........really bad mold year overall (im going to try that lemon juice trick next year and thin heavy)
ive thought about the compost idea in the g/h but besides some early spring and some late fall growing outdoors in NE ohio isnt really realistic
we dont get much powerful light and it gets to -20 degrees in january and feb
i ended up with 6 females (all succssfully cloned) and will b running them side by side indoors eventually

checked weather and only 1 cold night over next week.......26 degrees
i should beef up my walls and water them for more insulation........note to self
i think bubbakush might b a great spring and fall crop.........its 7 weeks and seems cold hardy.......could b able to steal 2 small harvests when most are just chillin
