I started flowering in a new 4x4x7 gorilla tent. My plant is big and bushy rh 50 % can you take a look and tell me if I should remove a few leaves.20210330_054120.jpg

You're going to get a 50/50 response, so it's up to you. I personally think it could use a little trim up just to get some light and air in there.

One thing I've been pondering is nitrogen consumption caused by the defoliated plant regrowing the leaves. Especially the second defoliation after the stretch, since the N is cut back during flower. Would it be enough to potentially cause deficiencies in slower flowering plants, or is it basically sluffing off excess foliage fuel and going into flower a lean mean bud growing machine?

Thats a good question on N and regrowing leaves. I usually tuck leaves if possible. I will remove a few leaves and see how she looks. If I need to i can lst a little to allow better air flow and light penitration. I hear you on the 50 50 answer i lean toward not removing leaves if possible.

I've always been pro-defoliation, and went super heavy on my last grow. I left almost all of the leaves on during this grow as an experiment. I have a suspicion that pruning weak side branches and little garbage shoots gives better results than defoliation.

I personally take the leaves that are overlapping each other. The plant made those leaves to take up sunlight. But at some point some of them are fucking useless when they are rammed under each other and it just creates layers to get PM. No thx.

As rule I always remove the fan leaves that are branching back into the plant since they get shaded out right away anyway.
