I used a soil with time release and with small-medium wood chips. Will I my weed still grow?

I was just wondering since alot of sources online say not to use soil that contains either.

It may turn out okay... Don't be in any rush to add your own nutrients to it until after the time marked on the package...

yes it will be perfectly fine, Don't add any stuff to it, run this grow before you try any additives

if you get the urge add a little sulphate of potash (potassium sulphate) to the top and... it will water in over time.

Nothing else.

Thank you for the advice! It really means a lot. I've been pretty paranoid since it's my first grow and I don't want too much to go wrong. But by the way, this is what the soil looks like. I may just buy some fox farms since so many people recommend it.
