I think this is a good question.....

I read somewhere that you shouldnt exceed a can filters recomended cfm or you could lose its ability to remove all the odor. But then on retailers sites they have a filter rated at 94cfm and recomend using a 206cfm fan to vent?

I would go by what the retailers say because the info they have has to be scientificaly proven or they risk false advertisement. I would figure that the other things you may have heard were common myths or misunderstandings.

And thats exactly what I would do! I always rather follow the instruction on the product.
