I think im screwed, dont know what to do.

I live in the carolinas and the weather people are saying the tropical storm will affect my area tommarow evening/over night with anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of rain and winds sustained around 35 with gusts to 45 or better possible. I have 3 big beautiful ladies anywhere from 2 weeks to a month away from finishing and Im worried Im going to lose them to this storm. 2 of them are close to 8 ft. tall and the other is 5 ft. They are all in containers, the 2 big ones in 40 gallon pots and the little in a 10 gallon. I could possibly move the small one inside until the storm is over but moving the big ones are basically not an option.

I thought about tying them up with twine and maybe running a few pieces of rebar in the ground around the containers and tying them to those as well. They do have a natural wind block in the form of bieng 3/4 of the way surrounded by thick brush and some tall trees but I dont know if that will be enough. Any advice would be apreciated.

wow, i have to imagine you're already top heavy, 30-40 mph wind is bad enough, but 6-8 inches of horizontal rain is what would worry me.40 gal pot is heavy, but not impossible. slip a skid under it and move it.piece of plywood some rope and a strong back! good luck

Thanks for the kind words and advice. I should have prepared earlier in the year but we havent really had tropical weather in a long while. I know its no excuse and next year I will do things alittle differently. I got the plants staked up pretty good. Got a bit of rain earlier, when it stopped I went out and gave them a shake. Will do the same tommarow if it lets up any. Hopefully ill still have plants saturday when its supposed to be moved on through.

Somthing I really use allot is electrical tape I would steak and tape with that you should be so straight another thing I do is flip the tape so the sticky side is out and band the plant this helps allot
