I think I am over watering??

Well after much research these past few days into roots and microbs, I took a look at one of my harvested plants root systems. Eeeek I am ashamed, I am not sure if I am just over watering them, or what, but these are just pitiful compared to some that I have seen.

Could this be why some of them stretch like crazy? or is that just the genetics of some of the girls that I have?

Just a quick background, I am running a DTW, 1 min feed 2x a day, once 45mins after lights on, 2nd 6hrs later. They are in Coco 1 gal containers. I am just now making the switch to smart pots to see if that helps any.

Smart pots are nice but a MUCH cheaper way to go is "Root Pouch" I made the switch and currently have the three gallon Root Pouches next to my old 3 gallon plastic pots....difference is night and day. From the size of the plant to the girth of the flowers, the pouches are winning. I even put the smallest plants in the root pouches and they have blown away the plastic pots. Today is day 63 of about 68-72 day harvest.

Root Pouches have three grades from 12 months to several years. I went with the gray colored pouch which is has about a 3 year rating.

I do DTW in coco as well, as for the roots if the harvest was good I would not worry.

i doubt if you're overwatering, considering your 2 a day feeds. unless in that minute, you're pumping a couple gallons into them. very hard to overwater in coco, but it can be done. your rootball does seem a bit small, but..... i've never heard of overwatering causing stretching. i'd up that 2x a day to 4 or 5. coco seems to like several smaller feeds over big ones. as long as your yields are o.k. i wouldn't fret...

The yield in that specific one was not that good at all. I am using some powerful pumps I think 700GPH per 20 pots, and each pot has a water stake.

As far as the fabric pots, I did get the Root Pots by Aurora. I did find them to be MUCH cheaper than the original Smart Pot.

I am going to go through my nutes again and see if maybe it is something that I am feeding them that is causing the root ball to stay so small.
