I think I added too much Perlite.

Don't put a seed(ling) directly into it. If the fragile roots encounter a perlite clump they might get air pruned. For established plants this is not a concern, might even be helpful.

I would load it with myco.
They like the nooks and crannies of coarse perlite / pumice.

Mycorrhizal fungi can thrive in the porous structure of pumice or perlite , as it provides ample surface area and oxygenation for their growth. The nooks and crannies of pumice offer an ideal habitat for mycorrhizal colonization and symbiotic interaction with plant roots.
