Yes but if you cut the bud off It will still have a growth point yes? as long as you leave a node where the bud was it will grow. I'm not saying to cut the buds off always for re veg, I just would have in the OPs situation. I wouldn't do it to the top cola etc as this would just be topping.
Maybe, but it seems to me that it is better to play it safe and leave the bud. I'm no expert but I'm gonna guess just like the plant utilizes the fan leaves for stored nitrogen during flowering, the bud may play a role in nutrients during reflower... But heck, I guess I could be wrong on that. All I know is my baby is coming back :)

And one thing I found for reflowering is don't skimp on foliar feeding... My plants seem to really like clonex clone solution mixed in water - about 5-10ml to a quart... Don't know what possessed me to try that :P

You foliar feed with clonex!? good luck with that.........
I see from your pics the new growth is coming from beneath the flower, this is what I mean, the growth usually comes from the node not from the actual flower.
I understand what you say about the buds/leaves having nutrients and maybe you are right but I think N is what the plant needs in re veg most and the flowers won't have much N.
In saying that though P is supposed to help root growth, root growth means top growth so maybe the flowers could help?

Haha... What's wrong with clonex? Nutrients are nutrients.... only thing that changes is how they are derived and how easily the plant can utilize them. Reread my post, clonex solution, not rooting gel.

I supplement nitrogen with FloraNova Grow and FloraDuo Pt A....

Please post some pics of one of your reveg plants without the flower - I'm interested to see this.

Lol I don't keep a stash of pics to prove my points, nor do I have a revegging plant as It isn't common practice for me. I'm sure there are plenty of pics around showing people doing similar things.
Clonex solution? I thought that was rooting gel? I've only ever seen the gel, is it like wilt spray? Nutrients are nutrients isn't a good way to think.......

Nobody asking you to prove anything, I'm just curious cause I aint never seen what your talking about - I'd love to learn how. Some new growth comes from below flower, some from the top of flower, some from the side of flower. I'd really like to learn your technique for trimming - if I did, I would had about 1.5 extra ounces of smokage :weed:

I just was revegging chimera C4 and og kush for like a couple weeks or so, then went today and made 2 og clones by topping it or taking one branch, then picking the calyxes off so its just the new growth. the clones can start taking root and the plant can go back outside to flower. the cuttings were just 3 or 4 inches but they should be fine

the flowers are the new growth points. cut off those n u will fail. You will end up with a healthy stick slowly dying from lack of food.
WTF are you on about?
Flowers aren't the only growth points. The point where the flower grows from is a growth point, so if you cut a flower off the plant will attempt to grow new growth from that point
I wish I had an answer. This seems to be just another debatable issue with no clear answer.
2 weeks ago I cut about 75% off the top of a plant to reveg. I stripped it of all flowers but left the leaves. I put it in a box to reveg along with a clone from a flowering plant. The clone is revegging nicely. The plant with the flowers removed slowly dried up, just like the rest of the harvested plant.
So, who knows :?: Perhaps some types reveg better than others.

Thats interesting because I've had the opposite, I think you are right tho some strains may do better or it could be environment?
Gagekko I don't really have a method so to speak I just take any flowers that are reasonably mature off the plant before I re veg, I've only done it a few times to plants that had been harvested and the other times were all clones which didn't really need trimming. I find the growth is not as retarded when it is coming from a node as opposed to from the flower, I have found foliar feeding helps like you say.
It works for me in my environment so may not work for you. I don't think I could give you advise which would increase your harvest that much though.

Just put them under a normal veg light cycle 18/6 for about a month... The old buds will turn into stems or fall off... When you see normal veg growth up the light to 24/24 and you'll be fine.
