I need some advice

Ok so I moved back into town with a few buddies from college. When I graduated I handed out about a grand worth of glass to my frat buddies, a tradtion. Now, comming back into town I wanted some bong hits so I went by the frat, walked in, saw my old bong and not finding anyone left a note and took it back to my apartment for bingers.

Ok so the owner of the bong wants it back, hes a little upset, understandable I know. Now the thing is this, I want my old bong back. What should I do? I paid for it, handed it down, and it was handed down year to year till now, so i sorta didnt really even give it to this dude, whos not really cool with me, but is sorta.... and I kinda stole it.

Oh, and all my friends are totally bummed im even considering giving it back, this thing rips like crazy.

So what should i do? I know im a bastard for swiping it in the first place but Iv spent a number of years and countless ounces on this bong. It hits perfect, just how I like.

Can I keep it and buy him a new one? Is that neccessary seeing as he didnt even pay for it? Am I just a douchebag? I need solutions, im useless.

Ya but that is shady...handing it down...then a few months later taking it back....like you cant just go buy a new one.

Id sit down and talk with him about it and see what he thinks would be reasonable...if its a frat tradition i would just let them keep the bong.
