Hi, I recently bought a condo and had it gutted and renovated. It is only a 1 BR unit, so, as you can imagine, space is limited. However, I do have a storage area in one private corner that is roughly 30" Deep, 72" Wide, and 84" High. So, about 2 1/2' x 6' with a 7' ceiling.
15 square feet seems like it should be enough space for personal use, but I'm wondering how I can best utilize that space. Later on I might be able to scrounge up another few square feet somewhere if I need to keep a mother somewhere or to start off some clones, but I think I'm going to have to do everything else in this area.
I was originally thinking of trying out some type of NFT setup using PVC, but after doing some more reading I think I'd be better off starting with an Ebb/Flow (Drown & Drain) system as it seems easier for someone new such as myself.
I've mostly been trying to research what I should do for lighting, and I think I'm going to start off just getting some CFLs, but I do plan on getting an HPS rig later. I'm in no rush to flower anything, and I'd actually like to get my practice in on the veg side for a while to make sure everything's working right with that side of it anyway.
I'm also going to be starting from seeds, so if someone could give me some tips on what I need to do before they'll be ready to put in the Ebb/Flow setup I'd appreciate that (or can they start off in there with a weak nute and go from begin to end in the ebb/flow)?
My main issue regarding the space is what I can do when I reach the point of flowering. Since I'll have some plants that need to be on a 12/12 light cycle and others that I'll want to keep on 18/6, I'm not sure what would be the best way to set things up.
Also, any suggestions on the best place to get some "practice" seeds for cheap would be appreciated. The best I've found so far is 420-seeds.com. Anyone deal with them? I can get a cheap strain for like $20 + $10 shipping I think.
Like I said, I'm looking at practicing and developing my abilities, working out the kinks of my room setup, grow technique, lighting, etc. so I don't really care if it's a good smoke or not.
Actually, if there was another plant that was similar enough to learn with that was NOT marijuana, I'd be willing to use that too, but it would have to be a close cousin so things wouldn't be much different when I would switch to the real thing.
Okay, anything anyone can offer, I thank you in advance.
