I Need Help

I planted These On The 3rd
I cant really Afford Any Fancy Equipment.
Basically I Give them as much Light As Possible and keep the soil moist.
One is 3 1/2 Inches Tall And The Other is 2 1/2 inches tall
I'm Concerned at how tall they are with so little leaves. Is This normal?
I Would Love tips and criticism.

P.S.I also Heard somewhere That I Could Use a 75 Watt Fluorescent Bulb

yes but it wont grow you any bud.
if you going to grow read up first, and get the rite gear.

they are going leggy like that, cos they are nt getting the correct light, and are too far away from what ever light you have on them.
what light sced are you using?.
also 1 plant per pot.

i have them on sunlight from the window but no set schedule

plants in vegg need ext. 18 or 24 hours light a day.
or it may just go into flower.
if you havent any money to buy"fancy lights"
wait till spring and plant outdoor, after you have read up a bit.
just get 2 strip lights for now.

Two strip lights?

goto hardware store,lowes,wallmart and look for cool strip flos,cost 10 to $20 each.
like you would have in a kitchen or office.
flo strip lights.
but if i was you id just get an 250hps and that will grow 4 plants all the way through flowering.

when i start my plants"seedlings, i put the pots in a box and put the flos over2" away from the lights. i never turn the lights off, they grow faster and there ok for the 1st 4 weeks or so.
then i goto hps for 12/12.

get what i mean.
you could set that up for $20,
and 2 strip lights will be ok for the 1st 4 weeks.
but in that 4 weeks, save up for a 250hps about $100 or so.
you need a hps for the flowering stage 12/12.
flos grow plants in vegg stage 18/6 or 24/0
18/6=18 light and 6 compleat darkness.
24/0 never turn the lights off till you goto 12/12.
then its best to use hps for 12/12
12 light
12 compleat darkness.
if you dont stick to these times when growing indoor, the plants will stress,and go hermie.
and thats not good.

these are the same as strip lights, but youll need more as time goes on.
even upto 6 per plant.

now if were to go with the 6 cfl's id need to upgrade to hps for buds Right?

flos for vegg 18/6 0r 24/0
hps for 12/12.

just use 1 per plant, and as the plants grow , add another every 2 weeks or so, per plant, till 4 to 8 weeks when you goto 12/12.

Well thats definetly cheaper. Now if i cant get my hands on some hps lights could I substitude direct sunlight for 12hours?

I'm trying to use cfl's all the way through, Produkts. I have one 200 2 65's, 4 42's, and a few others.If you look through the cfl page you can see some setups for cheap. Like menal said though, hps is the way to go if you can.

This IS My First Grow So I Want To grow some buds the cheapest way before I decide to really get into this.

these pics show you my cheap setup using 2, 4 foot flourescent light fixtures that's the cheapest setup I know. It'll takeme longer to flower( I need 2 more fixtures), but I have time. it's money I don;t have

OK So I Went To My local hardware store and copped some materials.
Its a standard lamp with a 26 watt CFl its putting out 1750 lumens
heres the pic

Dude your plants are "stretched". This happens when the light source is too far for young seedlings with there little development they stretch as much as they can in order to obtain as much energy from their small fan leafs.

Drop the lights down lower and your seedlings might make it, becuase if they stretch too much the stalk of the plant will become weak and collapse.
