k i have a white widow plant right now that i am using as a mother. i just got a 6 plant drip system and need to take cuttings and fill the system with clones. i know how to take cuttings and prep them and about the rooting gel.

i need to know about: storage of new clones.
nute levels after they have taken root and are in the system.
lighting schedual durring cloning.
how long to keep in humidity dome.
humidity levels.

any other advice on cloning would be greatly appreciated. i need to do this in the next few days and need to make sure everything goes smooth.

+repx10000000 if you help me fast and good!

oh yea heres a little about my plant... it is about 5 weeks old right now. it has been growing under 4 26w cfl bulbs and a 42w cfl bulb on a 18/6 light schedual. it is in soil and i have not used any nutrients yet. i have been pruning and trimming to help the lower branches grow out strong.

oh yea i forgot! here is a picture of what i rigged up to be my humidity dome. it was tin foil but i taped over it so it wouldnt reflect.
will this be ok to have my clones in untill they root?

pic 1,2- tray the rockwool will sit in.
pic 3,4- lid for lower tray.
pic 5,6- lower tray
pic 7,8- everything together. tray that holds rockwool goes inside lower tray with lid on it to keep moisture in.

are you puttn your clones in rw cubes or in water with a air stone? i like water with a air stone, if you dont know how heres how, go 2 a hydro shop and buy a 8 pack ez clone neoprene inserts (the black plug you put the cuttin in) there 4 bucks for the pack, take a square 1 gallon water jug and drill 8 round holes on 1 of the sides so the plugs fit snug, spray paint black or just cover in duck tape so no light gets in, drill a hole in the cap so you can run your air line and air stone in then glue the line 2 the cap with safe glue so it dont leak, i used a spilter and 2 air stones when i made mine also use distilled water be sure 2 check it every few days the water evaporites keep it full, for under 20 dollars you got a clone machine, i didnt use a dome i just put a computer light with a cfl in it next 2 them 24 hours a day untill they were done, no shit the roots will be 8 or 9 inches in 14 days major root growth, you can transplant them sooner but i all ways wait till the roots are long and thick, after you trans plant them use canna rhizotonic buy its self for a week its great for root growth, root growth is major in the first few weeks i give my babys rhizotonic all threw veg, i hope this help a lil

im doing rockwool cubes.

k so i could just put the clones in rockwool and put them strait into the drip system i have waiting, but i need to make sure they all work out. so i am just going to keep them in that container till i see root growth and then ill transplant to the system.

how long does it take the plants to be in the humidity dome to develope enough root growth to transplant to the system?

should i give them nutes? if no how long should i wait to do that?

clones need nutes as soon as they root. They are mature just like the mother and require nearly the same nutrient schedule as her...this is why they are called clones...

dont overwet rockwool as cuttings will live off of the water instead of making roots, trim half the large leaves in half on the clones but leave the top 2 nodes of the clones uncut as this part has a lot to do with how fast they root due to natural root hormones made there called auxins.

Dont sqeeze rockwool to get rid of water thats extra because this takes out oxygen of the medium. You should cup your hand around it and sling your arm to throw the water out of it instead.

Put cuttings in the rockwool after adding rooting hormone and trimming the ends @ a 45 degree angle... mist them and their dome lightly and water them by hand when they get dry until they root. Then add them to the system.

what you just said about the airstones air pumps and such is called a dwc cloner or a bubble cloner. Saves a bit of confusion if they can google it to know what your talking about. Thats the best thing you can make other than a aero cloner with waterpumps and sprayers....

k so i just have them in the dome under a light for 24hrs a day untill i notice root growth? and then right into the system already full of proper nute mix and everything?

wait until you got strong roots you want them 2 stick out the bottom of the cubes at least a inch and not just 1 root you want a lot of roots coming out the bottom of the cube, if you dont have that keep them under a floresent or clf and give them rhizotonic your roots will jump, after you got strong roots than put them in and start there nutes off low 200-300 ppm but only after you got strong roots

sweet thanks alot man. another thing. is a heat mat essential to cloning or do you think i will be fine with what i have?

if your useing rw cubes yea use a heat mat and almost all hydro shops sell rhizotonic its made by canna, and it does work great, if you cant find in your area order on line its worth the wait, i used 2 use rw cubes but i switched 2 coco, i put my clones fresh out the cloner into small cups with in 14 days my roots hang 5-8 inches out the holes in the bottom of the cups thats from the rhizotonic it does its job, good luck

the heat pad is going to aid in the rooting process. I know your using rockwool cubes, but give perlite a shot, it so fucking simple. put your clone in a small pot or cup with pure perlite, and let it sit in some water. It will wick up and keep the roots moist, and you dont have to worry bout overwatering or watering daily, just make sure the water level is ok.

do you really find its easier to find a suitable container with a lid that will not leak, punch holes in it, put an airstone or two in there, buying the airpump, hose and shit, net pots
as opposed to putting it in straight up perlite, with a water level of an ince.

k i think its too late for me to order one for this batch but i will have to get one befor the next one for sure. for now im making due with a heat pad from walmart... despite the fact that it has a 2 hour safty switch on it i think it will help at least a little. i try to turn it on as often as i can.

as soon as they have rooted im throwing them in a top drip system under a 400w mh/hps. i should veg them for a month then flower them for 2 right?

it all depends on the strain and how big you want them, i only veg for 4-10 days (depends on how they look) than i bloom for a week than i flower for 8-10 weeks depends on the strain, i dont like big plants because its hard 2 get light 2 the bottoms i like mine 2 be 3-4 feet when there done
