i dont live in the US and theres no vermiculite here,i ordered spores now im wondering is there a substitute for vermiculite

ok so if i order i gota wait for a week or more but thats not a problem, what about if im gonna need alot of it like 100l or more,so if somebody can either give me advice on a substitute or a recipe for a mushroom growing substrate that doesnt need vermiculite

perlite doesn't work for PFTEK. perlite desorbs water, vermiculite absorbs water. big difference with real consequence.

vermiculite isn't available in some parts of the USA. it sucks.

call around, maybe over state lines.

PS, you could grow with grains without vermiculite.

get some coco coir at a pet shop. it's "reptile bedding" coconut husks. it's a small brown brick. good stuff

i live in europe in a 3rd world country dont have shit here but i have coco coir, every recipe i found raeds that i need vermiculate cna u relate a link for a growing supstrate with coco coir

search "wild bird seed" on www.shroomery.org

i'm assuming you're trying to make PFTEK cakes? your third world country has brown rice flour, cubensis spores and coco coir but not vermiculite? do you have pressure cookers and canning jars?

really, you're troubles would be solved with www.google.com

brown rice flower hopefuly i can find been searching for it with no results for now, what about bird seed is that the same as rye seed or popcorn, and i wanted to try that method without cakes in a tray
