I need help on lighting. First time grow.

I know this has been asked a bunch, but before I get jumped on I have been asking on other threads about it and have tried to not start a new thread, but have no responses. Anyway. I have too much conflicting information regarding lights. And just so you know, I am somewhat tech savvy so I understand basics, i'm not that naive about growing even though I am a noob.

I plan on growing 4 bushy screen plants. I have a 2x2x4 tall Gbox tent with a 180w led (90w~120w draw) and 4 100w cfls ( 23w actual) .. I figured this was good to kind of make up for each others drawbacks.

Some people say ufo's are perfect for small scale enclosed grows. Some people swear by them, and some say they don't work for anything. I'm starting to think they are only useful in small scale focused growing instead of large scale. It seems a lot of people are losing light laterally in open grow rooms. Just my opinion on it. But we'll see.

The cfls I have along the led are 2 warm and 2 cool spectrums. Should I get more cfls or higher power ones? Is this enough lighting? It's 400w comparable but only 100w actual.

I just want to make sure I can pull 150 grams off of the 4 plants after about 12 week grow. Is that unrealistic?

How should I calculate gram/watt yield. With actual wattage or comparable wattage?

I see the average is around .5g-1g per watt. Is that per plant or per grow? I hear a lot of back and forth about it. Can anything be cleared up for me? I'n thinking with 200W+ I'll be able to get about 150g. But my math could be off. What do you guys think?

1st actual is all that matters wattage wise, and 2nd totally doable if all goes well

might take ya a grow or 2 to dial it in

Light is but one of the many elements involved

I understand there are other elements, and I have those squared away, My only issue before I grow is being absolutely sure my lighting is adequate. All i need to know is if my current setup is enough wattage to get 150 grams after 3 months grow.

I plan on topping, so I know that it might push my grow length. But without any crazy hacks, Im just hoping the lights are enough or if I need to get more, or at least 42w actual cfls or something.

I have over 400 actual watts on two plants that are in flower, cfl grow, the plants love it, when it comes to lighting, the more the better imho. the more light you give them the more bud they will give you. I think you need more light myself.

I used a similar UFO and amount of CFL's to flower one plant 5 gallon. If you are planning on effectively flowering 4 you'll need to bring in some serious light. Not more cfl's, maybe 2-3 more UFO's or a 400-600 watt HPS/MH.

I don't plan letting them mature fully. Only 4 weeks veg or so. So instead of one big plant its 4 small plants for slightly faster/smaller process..

I was thinki of getting 4 more cfl if needed. It's hard though.. a lot of differing opinions.

Oh, And how long was your process? And how much was your yield? You obviously had a big girl. ..

I like to give my plants a solid month of veg. Then 8-10 weeks of flowering. So things can go up to 4 months. Biggest noob mistakes are harvesting to early, or before a plant is "finished". I grew bubblicious with a UFO over tops and two monster 105 actual watt 2700k Cfl's on the sides. I dont measure yields. I just try to go into a 5 gallon pot before flowering. I ended up with 2 quart jars and some popcorn.

I'll have to agree with some of the other guys. You're going to need quite a bit more lighting. Most growers shoot for 100 actual watts per plant. You have about 200 actual watts so I'd say it will only be good for 2 plants. Plus your goal of 1 gram per watt is possible but not likely. Only the veteran growers consistently get gram per watt. Plus me personally haven't seen a gram per watt with UFO led and CFL's. What brand of led are you using? Invest in a top tier led and try to get your setup dialed before you can even consider grams per watt. Sorry not tying to be mean but you don't wanna expect much and only get a little.
