I need advice on finding a good yielding strain that is also potent.

Does feminizing seeds create a lesser product? I notice a lot of the big breeders either do not feminize or only offer limited varieties that are feminized.
No, fem seeds do not make a lesser product. Fem pollen does not always work like male pollen. Somtimes you get fem pollen and it sterile, sometimes you reverse a plant and it dosnt drop any pollen. Not all plants reverse the same, hence why some are limited.

interesting topic. So your saying fem plants and reg males product poor plants if i wanted to make my own seeds? Ive only bread by mistake early on but it was to a fanastic reg banana kush that to this day was the best ive had smoke wise but i am just exploring the og, chem and deisel premium lines.

No, thats not quite what I mean.

I'm just taking about viability of pollen from a reversed plant, if you reversed a female plant for pollen, there a chance of the pollen being unusable or no pollen being produced.

A reg male for the most part does not act like that. It dumps pollen and for the most part is always viable.

And in the end it always, always comes down to growing out the seeds you made. You can only speculate how good the seeds are but you don't full know till its grown out.

In the end reg or fem it does not make it a lesser quality seed, what makes it a lesser quality is poor breedering or chucking or crappy genetics to start with.

Sometimes I doubt it, crosses I've made with a fem mother and a reg male have turned out stellar. Great terps, bag appeal, and amazing high. And NO NANNERS. Meanwhile I've grown out gear from breeders that were renowned or whatever and had nanners popping out like crazy in late flowering (and I'll still find the odd pollen sac in those now nicely cured buds GRRR!!!)
Other times I had fem seeds turn out to be keeper cuts if it were possible for coming seasons. ***Seedsman White Widow fems*** looking at you!

7-9 days to chop. The light is pretty intense and I had no more head room to raise it so fried some leaves but as you can see it didn't hinder flower development one bit. I'll snap a pic of my 2 blue dreams in the flower room. One is 3 times the size of this plant. The other is twice as large.

What is really cool about bd is every single flower is rock hard from the little buds popping out at the base of the trunk all the way to the top. Amazing genetics.

Ya know man I was really digging the black widow fem from seedsman. Short stocky plant with massive funky smelling colas. A few garden stakes and she's set through flower. I've got a few seeds of their white widow fem. I'll have to pop a couple to see what this ww is all about :)

I can hardly keep up with my work load just maintaining the garden without being eaten alive every day. I couldn't imagine ever breeding. Makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it. Huge props to you for making your own crosses. That's good action man :)

black widow is a nice plant. I do the Mr. Nice version regularly. I approve of the taste , smell and grow. Maybe the best deal of any on buying from him. a 10 pack some yrs ago on bid arrived w 16 and on down the line with every strain from him. been a few years they hold up great to be old seeds I dont find in other breeders.

What size bucket?

I wouldn't recommend gg4 or blue dream crosses if you're goal is to get top dollar for your crop. Most of what you'll find there is watered down mids. I'd go with chem, tk or sour hybrids from csi. Doc D has some nice sativas that throw down as well
Useful has the best seeds around I've heard

Anyone who's a lil older remember how much blue dream outs/greenhouse flower there was around in the early mid- 2000s? People got so sick of blue dream because for a point of time there was so much of it around...at least in the northeast..that and gdp.
If people got tired of it maybe it wasn't very good? :) I'd smoke BD from here to the end of time. It's just fantastic smoke. I clipped a small few buds and let them dry over 4 days or so. They weren't truly ready to smoke, but it was at the point it was smoke-able :) I haven't been that stoned in a very long time. I got paranoid. I got freaked out. I was unprepared for the level of high that ensued. I mean that in the best way possible. I've grown around 10 strains over 2 years. BD, gg#4, and jager have been my best strains. Both jager and bd are fucking animals. They are not plants. They will overtake your grow room like a bull in a china shop. Massive producers without even trying. Heavy support required for both strains. Very labor intensive, but the pay off is well worth it. I could not develop a tolerance to BD last time I grew it. I hope this pheno is similar. gg#4 while incredibly strong and visually very appealing I rapidly grew a tolerance to it within 2 weeks. I really didn't get high anymore. It's funny how some strains you just don't build a tolerance to and others you do. So why is gg#4 a favorite of mine? It's in high demand and a fairly good producer. Support required on every single branch because the plant cannot support it's on weight. However it is nothing compared to dealing with a jager or bd. BD and jager require very labor intensive adjustments and continued support all the way up to flower day due to the size and weight of the flowers not to mention how long the fucking branches are. Gravity has it's effect as always :)

I got a fella I know that tells me he's got 15 different strains. My reaction? Meh. I've smoked his product. It's awful. So he's got 15 different strains of trash. Cool man :) Pick a few good genetics and rock out with your cock out and hang out with your wang out man. This shit isn't complicated, but guys like that manage to make it complicated. And if you suck at growing pot more strains will not make you a better grower :)
