ok so i need an anti-anxiety strain or 3...

so far jack 33 from ch9 (i believe is the breeder) sounds like exactly what i want: clear head...relaxing/calming (ie. anti-anxiety) and giggly/happy WITHOUT any racy effects. (without racy effects seems to be the hard part).

pretty much a change of pace from almost everything i smoke.

i like the clear head, relaxation/calm, giggle/happy effect you can get from a sativa but i do NOT favor ones that are racy or are very introspective...

racy and introspective for me = panic attacks

anyone know of any good strains for this problem?

im not concerned with yield, flower times, height, etc. whatever it takes to get the effects im looking for basically...im willing to do whatever i need to make it work in my grow room (dont worry its 8ft from the roof to the floor).

what do you suggest?
For my particular brain chemistry I found Chocolope to be the best anti anxiety strain for me.

I've found Seedsman's white widow to be non anxiety but on the Sativa side. I agree with the Brick Tops recommendation particularly Headband, except for AK-47 which can be racey and intense as observed by friends as well. I am always paying paying particular awareness to mood effects. Headband, snowdog, many Kush varieties, and the seedsman ww I find fit the bill for me where they are bit more functional and less sedating but don't cause raciness or anxiety.

If I were just picking strains I believed to be good for anti-anxiety I likely would not have felt AK47 to be a top option. But I did find it listed as being one on the medicinal marijuana site I found all the strains I posted info for and all were in the section for use for treating anxiety. It was a bit of a surprise to me to find it there but that is why when someone has a question about medicinal strains I recommend that they visit actual medicinal marijuana sites since they are the pros.

AK47

traits: ak-47, Ann Arbor Medical Marijuana, berry smell, calming, couchlock, dark green, day time use, Diesel Fuel Smell, Good For Anxiety, Good For Insomnia, Good For Pain Relief, Good For Relaxing, lots of crystals, Michigan Medical Marijuana, musty taste, Night Time Use, pine taste, sativa, skunky smell, strong smell, Very Potent

SWIM suffers from PTSD, and has much anxiety associated with that. SWIM's favorite anxiety relieving strain thus far is Sensi Star, with White Rhino coming in next. SWIM also finds if they eat the herb(butter, oil, etc) as opposed to smoking it that it has much greater anxiety relieving effects. But thats just good ole SWIM for ya.

What you described was any number of the old pure Mexican sativas previous to the polluting of them with indica and the advent of the brickweed era.

Strains that basically replaced the good old Mexican strains were ones like Colombian Gold and while potent they were, as you put it, introspective. Many of the pure Mexican sativas were what we used to call giggle-weed. They gave a clear head high but one that was not too speedy or too racy and they energized you and they made you feel great about everything and everything was funny.

If they still exist today in their pure form and would be offered to the public in their pure form they would make a major dent in the profits of companies that make Prozac and Paxil etc. They would be great for anyone with either or both depression and anxiety problems.

Well this is my 1st post (Breaking the Ice), But anyway I have the same problem. My anxiety is so bad I quit smoking herb when I was 18 due to the racey, heart beating out of my chest, sweaty, clamy feelings. Im now 25 and been through it all zanies, ativan but I couldnt take them on a regular bases due to them sending me into an anxiety attack. So after a few more doctors I was put on prozac and then switched to lexapro. That has seemed to do a little something but figured I would turn to see what herb can do for me. If any of you guys find a strain that helps I would be very thankful for it. I went to http://www.medicalmarijuanastrains.c.../anti-anxiety/ several times since thanking about going this route and found Grand Daddy Purple. That from the review looked like what I wanted, but just for kicks I went to the couch locking and lone behold there was GDP on there with a review from someone else saying basically everything I didnt want lol. I just want something thats going to clam me down not knock me on my ass if you get what Im saying. Any ideas?

dont know if this wasstated didnt bother to read all posts I have the same problem...a good strain for me was dutch passions strawberry cough, nice clear high no racey heart. I have wolfe parkinsons white disease which causes my eart to race, last time I went to the ER it was at 238 bpm..basicly having a heart atack, I've had surgery since and no problems for three years doc said I was cured during surgery, but now evrytime I smoke and my heart races' the paranoia sets in and the bud desnt help lol almost have a panic attack for the first 20 min of the first high for the day..

these are my favorites:
strawberry cough - dutch passion
sour kush - reserva privada
og kush - dr greenthumb
most underground original's strains are good to dont know their strain names pick-n-mix seeds has them
most OG kushes/ kush crosses
most kushes leaning to the indica side are great..just stay away from heavy sativas that have a up trippy high, you'll also want to look for seeds with a high CBD/CBN ratio to THC or just lower THC strain. the TC is what creates the racey effects and CBD combat it. Allowing your plants to go past their flowering time by a week will create more amber trichomes (amber=CBD clear=THC)

Iam the same way … don't want racing thoughts and elevated heart rate .. just calm relaxing and clear. I found hard to find today as most will do that to you. The best I have found was Mephisto Genetics brand - Toof Decay 80/20 indica dominate and Sour Crack 90/10. These are auto's and are really very very good. You have to order from their site or pay and arm and leg for them.

If you incorporate cbd into your consumption, the anxiety goes away. Learned it on my own, now it's a thing. It takes a little time to find the balance you like.

well my problem with indicas is i dont get that clear head...which i usually only find in sativas or sativa crosss...

ive had some bud before that was exactly like im describing but its one of a select few that i've had like that and of course i didnt know the name. it was the best 8th i ever bought. dammit.
for me any strain with Amnesia or Green Crack in it works wonders for my anxiety

Most people say sativas give them anxiety and indicas help with it but for me its the exact opposite
