i need a hero for these dying girls

I have been prompted to restore a dire situation to glory, and I would like all the good advice you can give me; please help me salvage and replenish.

This is what i am walking into:

My friend was given clones 30 clones, divided onto 10 slabs, he has held onto them for 7 weeks. There are only 10 survivors now, barely surviving, as there has been a mite infestation, and the room temperature has been in the 90s at times, usually between 80-90. He has had a terrible light schedule, saying when the temperature is too hot he has turned the lights off for any random number of hours to cool the room down. Some plants are over 18 inches and need to be cut imo. They get fed once a day.

I'm guessing I need to buy a standing AC unit, neem the hell out of the room, and top off the tall plants. I was wondering how long it might take to hospitalize these girls, and when i should start flowering them, and any other advice you could give me. Do I try to cut off the dead parts?

Actually i've heard that topping at the beginning of the flowering stage can greatly increase yield. If anyone would like to confirm this it would be appreciated

Irratic light schedules could wreak havoc on the plants, resulting in hermies. I would first try and stabilize their light schedule - 18/6 or 24/0 for a couple weeks. You are watering every day? Are they soil or hydro? The every day watering could be a result of the excessive heat. Need to get that under control. Make sure you have good ventilation and you must vent that heat somehow. You also want to make sure you have good air movement around the plants - put an oscillating fan on them. Also get some Superthrive and use in your next few waterings. ST is supposed to reduce stress.

i'd start over. you aren't in flower yet? clean it out, kill the bugs, get some fresh healthy clones and do it right. you can veg a couple weeks and be caught up with healthy plants. to nurse the sick ones could be counter-productive.
