Might have misread the description and comments about the temps, but is the 38 in F in C? Because that guy mentioned the plants freezing which would mean its in F but I doubt the plants would even be alive for more than a couple days tops at such a low temp as the highest throughout the day lol.

hey reelist! we started our grows near the same time n mine didnt show much signs of flowering til around week 3 or start of week 4 but no they are into full flow!

as for nirvana bein "shit" ive never ordered sees from anywhere n this is my very first grow and all my auto northern lights are hitting between 24-30 inches most bein the latter and thats after highly stressing them out i.e light was off for 4 days mid grow, temps hittin 41 degrees before installin a carbon filter kit etc etc GOOD LUCK mate!

my temps are in C

The other 2 are still not flowering but im confident its just a delay due to stress

@indcolts im basicly using 2x1.5 gallon pots on top of each other (as in stacked with the base of the top one removed) for each plant which are quite narrow but tall. The roots dig very quickly and a couple of the plants roots have crawled through the bottom so in some cases ive got stacks of 3 pots lol

@beaves the tallest an most vigourous are about 10 inces so areound 25 cm the smallest is about 6 inches so about 15 cm but i have tied them down to promote side branching.

Temps are still high the new fan still hasnt arrived could be here tomorrow ive had to leave the doors open and stick a couple of desk fans in there but I wont be able to sleep at night until the temperature is around 25-27 C. Right now im still getting a high of 30 and is at 28.5 most of the time.

Just got my pH meter through the post (had some delivery issues) i was expecting my pH to be a little high due to the water in my area turns out its actually very low i got readings of around 5. Since germination I had been adding root excelurator and small amounts of vinegar because my area is known for very hard water (7-8 pH) so i think ive over done it a bit, plus the soil i used says the pH is 5-6 on the packaging. Gonna purchase some pH up but in the mean time flush with water straight out of the tap so over next couple of weeks should get that sorted, ive been told you have to raise pH slowly and not to rush it.

1 or 2 of the plants have displayed what looks like calcium or magnesium deficincys and that makes sense now considering the pH

Ill try keepl this thread updated as some people have said there interested to see how it goes, but bare in mind with all the things gone wrong the final yield will probably be affected due to these school boy errors so late in the day!

the help and kind words are appreciated

wow beaves an i thought mine were stressed! Autos seem like quite resiliant plants probably due to ruderelis genes. Make sure you keep an eye out for hermies! I thought i found 1 ball on a plant well into flower but after removing it and looking close up i think it was just a mature female flower.

Another school boy error i didnt use distilled water when using the probe so that probably affected my reading going to have check again with distilled water because this probably made my reading look a bit lower than it was. I thought id mention this incase any new growers were taking advice from my replies.

Ive read baking soda is a good household remedy to raise pH but can anyone explain how i apply it? As in do i mix it in the soil or the water, sorry if that sounds stupid

They do seem very resilient beasts these autos! My tap water comes out at exactly 7PH so I'm not that far out, just a bit of PH down n I'm sorted! I'm useless at the cal mag stuff...kinda ignored it on this run but for next time I'm guna read up a lot to do with this along with the genetics of the strain I want to use...if this turns out to be a good yield il carry on with NL. Definitely try n keep this thread updated coz I for one wud like to no what your doin, oick up some tips n see how they turn out! Ive updated my thread (600w northern lights) with new pics, cant remember if you checked it out recently...il be watchin! GL bro

ok good news they are now all flowering so Nirvana are alright by me.

However the summer temps are pushing my tent temp higher still and the 5'' TT I got isnt doing anything to help. I only paid a score for it but it looks like im gonna have to get a 6'' or maybe 8'' RVK which is what I should have done to begin with!

Big tip to noobs like myself DONT try an cut corners invest wisely (and RVKs are much better than TT in the unlikely event you didnt know that already)

Having said that I ended up making another vent hole and left both fans (4'' RVK and 5'' TT) exhausting which kept temps low enough at the time but I wont know if this will work until tomorrow when theyve had a full day of light. Not much but every little helps right?

This seems to be turning into a grow journal

Excellent! From what ive been hearing off others in this site and other sites is that nirvana are hit n miss...maybe thats not so true seein as yours are goin thru a similar process to mine at similar ages...

What light are you usin and what medium?

Ive got myself a shitty TT 5" inline fan/carbon filter, definitely helps but like u said, and from my experience so far, never cut corners!! Will always bite you in the ass sooner or later!
