I just put my plant on a 12/12 light cycle on the 5th.I just wanted to know how long should it be before I start to see some buds being produced?
 
first youre going to wait about a week to show sex. than the bud process begins, depending on the strain it could be 7-9 weeks from beginning of flower until done and ready for harvest
 
Really make sure there are NO light leaks, get inside the tent room and shut the door. I even tape over the little lights on my powerboard and timers, ect. You've come this far, don't want to mess it up now. As for your question, Sunni is right about a week to ten days.
 
yeah youre gunna be waiting a bit if you dont know the strain no one can give you an exact answer, gunna be somewhere rounf 7-14 days before you see anything starting :) good luck mate happy growing, why not start up a grow journal with pictures :D

I did just that. I went in the middle of the day and clised the door with me inside. I stayed in for a couple of minutes to let my eyes adjust. No light leaks wat so ever.
