I just heard as of 2013 or something they are changing the laws regarding Medical MJ?

Growers,

It is like this as of Fri June 8th in Los Ganjales...

"A second city panel on Friday voiced a clear preference toward a "gentle" ban that would result in closing down medical marijuana clinics throughout Los Angeles.
The Public Safety Committee voted 3-1 to recommend the proposal from Councilmen Jose Huizar & Mitch Englander shutting down the clinics until the state Supreme Court decides on the legality of permitting dispensaries. But the proposal would allow those who need medical marijuana and their caregivers to grow the plant.
The panel also recommended the City Council not adopt a measure from Councilmen Paul Koretz to allow 100 dispensaries to continue operation as long as they followed strict regulations. Earlier the Council's Planning and Land Use Management Committee took a similar vote. The measure now goes to the full Council for a vote..."

Hate to make ya all sad, AND Dan knows this too, NOWHERE UNDER PROP 215 (LONG SINCE CODIFIED AS BINDING STATE LAW) ARE STOREFRONT DISPENSARIES ALLOWED! IN FACT THEY ARE NOT EVEN MENTIONED BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER INTENDED! SADLY, SB420 (NOT BINDING AS STATE LAW) CREATED THIS DEBACLE IN CA & PARTICULARLY IN LOS ANGELES WHERE I OPERATE BY ALLOWING SERIOUSLY DISABLED PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY TO COLLECTIVELY GROW THEIR PLANTS IN KIND FOR THE COMMON GOOD OF SAID COLLECTIVE ASSOCIATION... FURTHERMORE, REASONABLE COMPENSATION FOR THE SUSTAINED OVERHEAD OF SAID LEGAL COLLECTIVE GARDEN IS LEGAL...

This one clause fucked all us real off the grid growers by allowing shady carpetbagging business/mafia suits the opportunity to set up shop and "compassionately disseminate medicine" (yeah right) to needy patients not able to grow or form their own viable collectives!

BULLSHIT!!!!!!!:finger:

It simply allowed the various MOBS: Russian, Armenian, Mexican, Korean, etc... to sling weed hand over fist to any lame 19 yr old w/a fake Dr. script in LA!

It also, created fake Dr offices, fake Collectives, fake stores, etc...

Need I go on...:wall:

The corrupt 12 member LA city council buried their heads in the sand way back in 2005...

Now, they are the laughingstock of the state imho!:dunce:

So all YOU young newbies trying to make ur riches in the GREEN RUSH good luck!

Us old, established, respected breeders in So Cal have never needed or depended on fake ass stores to move our quality wares!

We have juss laughed as another new generation gets exposed to ganja in a fake store thinking that they are smoking real medicine???

They are usually smoking, incorrectly labeled, premature, PM laden, spider mite riddled, SM90 poisoned, wet product that costs in excess of $50 plus an 1/8th...

In my REAL COLLECTIVE all grams r $15; all 1/8ths r $50 period... $360 an OZ... etc...

Ill continue laughing as YOU all go belly up while I get rich in the real Black Market Economy that runs this shady ass state...

Karma's a bitch boys...;-)

I hope ya know some people..

Or have a SUPERIOR PRODUCT to move thru some good networks...

Because ya all bout to be cut off from your dumping grounds...

Correct.

IN FACT THEY ARE NOT EVEN MENTIONED BECAUSE THEY WERE NEVER INTENDED!
Incorrect. I've asked the author of prop 215 personally.

Prop 215 was created in response to Dennis Peron's mmj dispensary (The San Francisco Cannabis Buyers Club or "the 5 story felony" as he calls it) being shut down. The original MMJ collective in California was in fact an illegal store front dispensary in San Francisco that was being operated primarily by terminally ill Cancer and Aids patents or other people who would make the police look bad if they arrested them. However it was open to anyone who claimed that marijuana helped them with an illness without a doctors notice. They were also importing a lot of their bud in from S America by ship. If you think dispensaries today are illegitimate, you should see some of the crap Peron pulled. It was awesome. When it was finally got shut down, they created a ballot initiative known as prop 215.

It was absolutely intended to have store front dispensaries. The problem is that prop 215 while very clever in many ways, is also very poorly written in other ways. They assumed that co-op would mean a store front dispensary, but law enforcement didn't agree. But if you look at the history of how prop 215 came to be, there is no way you can interpret it to say they did not intend to legalize store front dispensaries. That's exactly what they thought they were doing.

This one clause fucked all us real off the grid growers by allowing shady carpetbagging business/mafia suits the opportunity to set up shop and "compassionately disseminate medicine" (yeah right) to needy patients not able to grow or form their own viable collectives!
Nah. While that is an issue, it's a minor one. LE and the feds don't give a shit how legitimate your service is. They want to bust people and put people in jail. It's that simple. They don't give a shit if you're trying to help people or just get paid. They want to lock all of us up. It really is that simple.

It also, created fake Dr offices, fake Collectives, fake stores, etc...
This is exactly what law enforcement wants. They want us to point the finger at each other to keep us all divided. This problem is not being created by the doctors, collectives, dispensaries, growers, etc. This problem is created by politicians, cops, and the corporations who lobby them to bust us.

There is no level of good behavior or intentions that would stop these busts. Even if every collective in the state was 100% legit, they'd still want to lock us all up and throw away the key.

The enemy is the government, the police, and corporate interests. It is not other people who grow, sell, or consume mmj. It's important we remember that. If we all turn on each other then they've already beaten us.

So all YOU young newbies trying to make ur riches in the GREEN RUSH good luck!
That rush is over IMO. If you're just trying to break into the game now it's basically too late.

They are usually smoking, incorrectly labeled, premature, PM laden, spider mite riddled, SM90 poisoned, wet product that costs in excess of $50 plus an 1/8th..
And before dispensaries existed, this problem was even worse. There was zero accountability anywhere ever. It was a matter of taking whatever your dealer handed you.

In my REAL COLLECTIVE all grams r $15; all 1/8ths r $50 period... $360 an OZ... etc...
But you're a "true legitimate" non-profit collective which is of course all about compassion, but you're growing your own bud off the grid and selling it for $50 an 1/8. Ok then...

I also notice you described yourself as a "COLLECTIVE ASSOCIATION... ".

Does that mean you're operating as a non-profit association instead of a MB non-profit corporation in order to avoid paying collective taxes and instead paying yourselves on 1099's as independent contractors so you only have to pay personal income tax? You criticize others for not being legit enough but come on man... Criticizing others does not make your bullshit any less transparent. Hope you've got a damn good accountant/lawyer.

Ill continue laughing as YOU all go belly up while I get rich in the real Black Market Economy that runs this shady ass state...

Karma's a bitch boys...;-)
Indeed. Maybe a little less laughing at people getting sent to prison while you rake in the doe? As they say, "Karma's a bitch boys...;-)"

It's all good man. Just know this. What is happening to them, can also happen to you. United we stand, divided we fall.

In Merced right now they are sending out the same letters to private collective growers that they have been to store front dispensaries across the state. These are completely legit collective growers who keep their total plant count under 99 plants and open their grows to sheriff inspection to make sure they are following the law, only growing 8 plants per patient. These letters are threatening 40 year prison sentences and seizures of their land if they do not immediately pull up their grows and keep their plant limits to the state minimum of 8 mature plants total.

They aren't just trying to shut down store fronts, they are going to come after all of us if we let them.

I, for one, hope they don't close down the dispensaries. I liked having one safe place I could go to to buy my meds. I don't want to buy from some dealer and I can't grow my own right now. I have my 215 it's just that it's not possible for me to do it in my current living situation. My dispensary had good prices, a great owner, and good product. The feds came in and closed it down and now i'm out of bud until I can find someone I can trust to buy from.

Like Dan said, they are closing all of the ones that they can close without having to only label it as dealing marijuana. The only dispensaries that are closing are the ones that are in more than one, or multiple violations.

If they were to close all of the dispensaries in California the economy would tank. What people dont understand is how many business around these dispensaries are being given more customers primarily because of these clubs. If there are more clubs in california then starbucks then think about how many stores that were paying property tax would stop. Houses would foreclose all over, lets just say, it would not be pretty.

Unless your club is doing something they shouldn't (which trust me, clubs are working their asses off to stay by the books) then they may close, but once again like Dan said. If all of the Clubs in the Valley close then there would be some major court cases, and media coverage, and most likely it would blow up in Obama's face like a nuclear bomb.

Unless the our government is a bunch of morons (which they are not) they will not screw this up, meaning your clubs are safe. Once again like Dan said, if they would of stopped it, it would of been shut down when it all first started in 1996...

Well that's mostly true. But keep in mind not all the clubs that have been shut down were doing something shady. Many of these clubs tried their best to be 100% by the books, but the feds found some technicality to shut them down. Two were shut down in San Francisco because several years after they were in business, a school opened up a few blocks away. The school publicly stated that these clubs were having no effect on the school and that the school did not need them to be shut down, but the feds ignored that and shut them down anyways. The same thing happened in Marin county. The city counsil came out to the media saying the club was playing a positive role in the community and that they did not want it shut down. The feds shut it down anyways.

Many of these clubs being shut down are trying to be by the books, but the feds just look for an excuse to shut em down anyways. Sometimes, changing the rules as they go like they tried to do with harborside. Harborisde is a powerful enough organization to fight off these attacks, but many are not.

Bottom line is that every club is endanger no matter how much community support they have. The feds won't shut them down for distribution alone, but if they can find ANY other flimsy pretext to shut them down they will.

This is attributed to Martin NieMoller:

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

This is what's going on. We cling to the hope there is something that separates US from the THEM arrested. Essentially guys they are very focused on whittling us down. Big Pharma or Big Tobacco is ready and unless we band VERY strongly together and put aside all our US vs THEM mentality it will be to late, probably actually is.

They are coming for all of us, not one of us is excluded, and Dan you're right about how they are being very careful just like they were during prohibition about using the IRS, Postal laws etc... to take them down without raising the actual issue which was fairly unpopular.

You obviously are going to the wrong fucking clubs man...

Dude,

Seriously!!!

I don't go to clubs!

I don't sell to clubs!

I don't respect clubs!

I & I have grown my own medicine, non stop since July 1997, for myself & those lucky enough to know me...

Good bye boys!

Enjoy all the brain power in these threads...

Really lame to find haters here...

An yeah the Feds do suck but the vast majority of clubs shut down r shut down by both County & City LE agencies in CA...

Feds account for maybe 1% of all marijuana related arrests nationwide...

Damn, the entire DEA is less than 500 agents state side...

YOU guys need to get educated n real life and stop all the nonsense ignorance that is being spread here because some people probably believe YOU!

N yeah its not us & them...

Its every man for himself!!!

Has been and always will be!

I love my country but my Government scares the shit out of me!

Until the present reality, a non stop war on drugs for more than 70 years, changes we are all losers...

Remember this in America the winners write the history...

And in America we r not the winners rather we r marginalized and attacked by powers that are far greater than us...

In fact, America has been engaged in a global WAR on DRUGS since the Taft Hartley bill of 1914!

We have continually scheduled marijuana as a dangerous drug w/no medicinal value despite the original Shaffer Commissions own recommendations to decriminalize the herb way back in 1972...

Again in 1986 an Administrative Law Judge for the DEA recommended rescheduling & decriminalizing marijuana conceding that it was one of the safest therapeutic substances known on earth...

He was shit canned and nothing ever changed...

The DEA is still responsible for the scheduling of all drugs in America since the 1980's...

Until drugs r again scheduled by the Federal Dept of Health & Human Services we r all fucked imho...

And that will never come to pass in my lifetime!

So make your $, stay outta trouble, & never forget that YOU r a political prisoner operating far behind enemy lines when YOU choose to live in the underground economy moving herbs in Amerikkka!!!

Rant over!

Gotta say bye bye...

Fuck dispensaries and their $300 ounces. Non profit my ass. All these places clame to have "compassionate donation rates" but in reality the only bud that is affordable is in the outdoor or greenhouse section, and that is usually old, stale, dry, and sometimes moldy.

Compassion doesn't mean you are entitled to free weed all day because you feel like getting high.

Guess what? It's expensive to grow indoor, so yes, it will cost more.

I love it when people want "compassion", but only want that "compassion" in the form of free top shelf purple hydro.

And as far as "non-profit" goes... The word profit doesn't even appear in prop 215. When it was passed, there was nothing in the law saying dispensaries must be non-profit. The people of California didn't make that rule, the government made it. This whole idea of mmj card holders getting mad at dispensaries bending the laws a bit is just LOL. Of course they are going to make some money.

Don't like dispensaries? Grow your own. It really is that simple.

Yes, but I believe there is a law that says you are not aloud to make money on prescriptions. You can only break even. I am pretty sure most pharmacies make all of there money off the vitam/general heath section.
I think this is true.

your wrong about that dude, state law does say that dispensaries must be non-profit, and that they also must provide some other service besides selling weed. Either way, they should only sell at a rate that takes care of their overhead. Prop. 215 wasnt passed so that ppl can be legal drug lords, opening up a storefront bud shop and raking in the cash. No, dispensaries are allowed to provide safe access. I hardly consider it access when they buy something for $65 an oz from the vendor, and sell it for $280. Thats robbery. I prefer buying from the vendor directly. Thats why there is a huge backlash against dispensaries in LA right now. With sites like budtrader popping up ppl are realizing how cheap these pounds are that the dispensaries are getting.

The law also says don't grow, sell, or consume marijuana.

Also, I'm pretty sure pharmaceutical companies make a nice profit. Also, non-profit doesn't mean you can't earn a paycheck. It's just supposed to put an arbitrary limit on the size of that paycheck.
