According to the diagrams the spring is beside the wire rather than above or below it, so the pin should go in level with the wire... but the diagrams don't resemble the holder to me. The sheet is linked from their product page so I assume it must be valid somehow but I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Maybe you go in at an angle?

nonreusable

none of the bjbs ive ever seen have anything like rahz's drawing, they have a tiny hole for wire, and the spring action of the connector isnt an arm like that, its more like a round radial fitting with an axial slot that expands to grip the wire, like a female part im fond of ;)

cut wire and splice if you want to reuse

If they're not re-useable can't you just snip the wires as close to holders as possible? Or not enough slack left for you to put something else in it's place? Not sure what the end goal is? Just trying to help......... (:

I asked BJB about this and got no response, so I asked CDI and was told they are designed not to release. The rep. quoted BJB saying "there's no real way to release the wire without damaging the contact". I'd read there was a tool that Rahz showed. I wanted to replace the silicone pad with grease and luckily had enough slack in the wires to flip it over with the wires attached. Otherwise, cut the wire and use a new holder. I ordered 10 new holders. I'm using part # 47.319.2033.50

i think i got lucky using single strand copper....only two wires acted this way....the other two pulled out fine.....
