Hi,

Im pretty new to growing but seems like I have come across somthing that not many people have seen or heard about on marajanna leaves, DENTING OR INDENTING.

I have done research on here, google, yahoo, askjeeves & cant find squat.

Guys heres a pic of my plants leafes there denting in. They are curling upward iv heard ways to get that to stop although it hasent. The DENTING is the worst. Its on the 8 node up out of 9 and its SLOWLY spreading to the lower and top node.

Here a pic SUMONE PLEASE HELP MEkiss-ass:peace:

...looks like they are reaching for light...what type of light? ...how close are you keeping the light to the plant? ...what are your temps, high & low?

I would be more concerned about how stretched she is, not those leaves looking a little funny
From the looks of it you need some more light

whats a good light system that doesent produce alot of electricity. I am not running a garden just a couple of plants and is running on a regular circut. so so on the conditions of all that what do you reconmend for a 3ft long 2ft wide closet?

if your only doing one or two plants you can use a 150 hps with your tubes as supplementary lights. Its like 4 or 5 dollars a month of electricity and should be enough for you to flower 2 girls. I bought a small all in one fixture from BGHydro.com for 70 bucks. HTGsupply.com com carries the all in one fixtures as well. At BG they are called compact HPS lamps
You could plug 4 or 5 150's in without worrying about tripping a breaker as long as your not using a microwave or oven or anything on the same circuit

I'd still like to know what the hell is causing your denting issue. I actually noticed it on a couple of my plants the other day. No where near this bad. So no offense to other people in this thread...but can we get back on topic?

Anyone have any ideas? My Temps, Humidity, and PH are all fine...so is my lighting. 2 4 Ft T8's a few inches from the tops. Light meter reads over 500 ft candles for each plant. I know it could be more...but it should be enough till I kick on my HPS.

Temps range from about 65 - 80 degrees, Humidity is between 45% - 65% and my PH in water and soil are between 6.3 - 6.5

So....anything? The only other factor I can think of is damage from fungus gnat larvae....starting to cause damage up in the leaves from fucking with the roots (in my grow). This guy has no mention of bugs though. So seriously....wtf is THIS?

lol y did u go and say a 400watt hps? this guy is talking about he has one 20 inch flourescent bulb, now ur telling him to go spend upwards of $300 and multiply his electricity usage tenfold?

go buy a shitload of cfls (compact flourescent lightbulbs).. u can google them online and get some good results
on every cfl there r two wattage ratings. one is the actual wattage (ex. 26 watts used) and then there is the wattage equivalent to an incandescent bulb (a 26 actual watts would be about 100 watt equivalent)
thats a big one u need to remember.

another thing is they sell them from like 10 actual watts up to 46.... 46 watts are very nice (it would say 150watt equivalent).. im sure u understand the lighting tempurature rules right?
6500k for veg, replicates the bright sunlight of summer, and downwards of 2700k for flower to replicate the yellow, much softer light in fall (this is 12/12 time)
when i started growing i was using cfls, and for every 150 watts (like 3-46 ACTUAL watt bulbs) i would toss in about 25-40 watts of a 3500k bulb, the spectrum mix is rather pleasing to the plant.

I got my digital 400 watt HPS with cool tube for under 200. He said his room is 2' by 3'
If you want to properly light up that area than you need a 400 watt HPS. You are telling him to buy a shitload of CFL's which will probably end up being close to or more than 400 watts. You want him to use the same amount of electricity to not properly light up the space. Great tip dude :-|

the denting is probabaly a ph problem.. i had this happen to my plants early in their time..they dent in all over, seem to spread to other leaves, and then start to look like they r bruising on the bottom of the leaves.. should b fine bro, get a ph stick set or even if u have a pool, go find ur ph tester kit, u want a ph around 6 if possible..

do u have a fan at all on the plants either?
