Hey everyone....

I just got into flowering and installed my air conditioner but the only place light leaks through is the air conditioner vents!

I need to some how block the light from coming in yet still be able to have the air conditioner cool down the room....

My suggestion to myself is to some how use a bunch of screens and it should filter out the light but will that make the cooling extremely less efficient??

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! Thanks for all comments and suggestions!

You'll have to manufacture up a hood that covers the vents and directs air straight down. Inside of that, place a piece of carbon filter material that allows air to pass but not light. You can usually find it online or in stores near the Ac filters or air cleaner appliances. some people on eBay sell it by the roll.

tape a black trashbag around the Ac and put holes all over the bag. Or use a piece of cardboard to make a guard tht blows the air downward and will also reduce light. Or build a canopy over the outside of ac to house it from the sun.

This stuff....

it is the easiest way.... Air passes right through it. I used it on my wall pass through vent... Here are a couple of pics before, and after...

before anyone points out that the carbon odor sheets won't block out MJ smells, I know, this was solely for light. The second pic shows the LED lights coming right through. On the other side of the wall, if the bathroom light was on, it looked like a full moon was in my flower room. The last pic shows after the installation of the carbon sheets. Very little to no light coming through from either side now.

You are welcome dude. Someone else passed teh idea on to me to solve my leak, glad I could pass it on to you.
I know this is a old post but just gave me another idea, i was going to paint the Styrofoam inside, being thats where the sun is barely coming through, I even have some carbon filter material around the house, score. Hope it's thick enough though. Just had to change ac's cause of a DE fixture.
