Wrong wrong wrong. It is a poor craftsman who blames his tools. The nutrients are only to an extent specific, there are many cheap ones that will work. Its you, not the bottle, that does the work. Cutting edge solutions, PROVEN to work, for me at leasr. Zero problems. Xnutrient line is cheap and looks bad ass when you look at theor imgredoents and nutrient stats. A person can grow for six hundred bucks if done correctly. If you dont waste, you can get everything you need.
and a hooker with the leftover cash.

Where will you be growing? . I am in the basement and I dont have to aircool my hood so no inline fans or ducting. Spare bedrooms are real nice. Use the closet for veg with a couple 4 foot cfl shop lights. I have seen them priced from 8 to 20 dollars at depot and true value. TV or Ace usually more costly then HD but not always.

Soil does not have to cost a bunch. You can use MG soil if you use it right. It has nutes for a month. There are many inexpensive options for nutes and soil like what Jack Hare mentioned a few page back.

Get some beans from Sannies. Ten Chocolate Rain reg seeds for under 35 delivered. A cheap fan or two, maybe a cheap wall thermometer to make sure the room does not get too hot or cold. Grow bags are worth the price if you dont have pots.. party cups for seedlings and three gallon grow bags = ten bucks.

I am probaly forgetting something but the most expensive item is the ballast, hood and bulb. You should be able to get that for three to four hundred new, maybe a little more.

If you have to use a "tent" it gets expensive. Good luck

im probably going to use my attic i can go moderate pricwe on most of the stuff but i am probably going to spend the money for good bulbs and ballast and hood. i have a friend who is great handy man who will hook up my area and set up my exhaust and what not good thing is smell wont be a issue where i live... all u guys are awesome for the advice you are giving me i really appreciate it alot..

Consider then using polystrene board, you can get it at home depot, its styrofoam(sp) with a reflective backing like used in walk-in freezers, if ventelated properly it will help to keep temps consistant and not too cold at night. Also consider taking water up stairs could be a pain in the ass....

well its about the only spot i got that is out of sight and where it wont get messed with...know what i mean cuz i can just run my exhaust out the window in there

Yeah, good point, and out ofsight out of mind. Isnt it exciting, the feeling of working toward liberation from being a buyer?
