Yeah, this one got a lot of attention nationally and may be the one that got the ball rolling.

The fire investigators brought in the DEA, because they had no experience with BHO labs and were seeking information, and it brought out the assistant director of the UFCW union representing the employee's, Occupational Safety and Health assistant director, who brought NIOSH into the equation, as well as contacting reputable sources of record, for information.

NIOSH is of course writing the rules that OSHA will be following in the cannabis workplace, and is now doing their due diligence. I was one of the participants in a training class for NIOSH and the UFCW industrial hygienists, that covered all aspects of production, from seed to dispensary, which I thought went well, and I was impressed with both the production by others, as well the perceptiveness of the hygienist, in that when they pointed out something that violates existing regulations (like exposed cutters or pinch points), they without exception offered a reasonable fix.
