I GIVE UP - aerocloner

i was under the impression this aerocloner was a no brainer.

i'm sure i did something wrong.

i have a 18 gallon tote, with 35 neoprene inserts,

i think its like 18-360° misters.

the bottoms of the neoprene get plenty of 5.8 phd water.

the clones have been in there for 19 days.

they were cut at a 45° angle and they all stick out anywhere from an inch to 2 inches out of the bottom of the neoprene.
i keep it clean, check the ph every 3rd or so day, i've changed to fresh new water every 7 days.

i'm a little frustrated.

if they dont root in the next 5 or 6 days i'm going to revert to rockwool.

i'm also thinking maybe the strains i have dont like to root in this thing, but i could be wrong. i was under the impression anything* will clone in the aerocloner.

i have grape punch, blue dream, and sour bubble.

***off topic

i also started a grand daddy purps mom i'm going to start making clones out of in the next week or 2.

dam after reading this i dont know if i want an aerocloner. I do super plugs and im a 90% succ. rate at 14 days. I think it might just be your strains... check up on that thats probably where you might be going wrong but all three doing the same thing sounds like something else. maybe your temps or humidity? rooting hornmone or you might need to put a lil bit of vitamins (liquid seaweed) in the mix of your water.

before this i was doing the rapid rooters, it would take like 14 days but i was getting 35-40 rooted out of 50.

the temps are at 75-79°F at any given time.

i was thinking about adding rooting hormone or a tad of my veg nutesm but from my research everyone says plain water works best so i have tried any of that.

you should still do the super plugs but maybe do the aerocloner on the side just to see if you get better success than me.

it doesnt make sense to me to use the powdes or gels. i would think that the water spraying constantly on it would just rinse it off and render it useless.

add a root stimulant to the girls and sum b vitamin to the water how old was the moms? maybe check and see how much N they are gettin!! get a dome on them if you can and mist it with a foliar spray to try and get the humidity up to 90-100% the gels seem to be a lil water resistant as apposed to the powders like if you oiled sumthin and see water drip off of it !!

18 misters?
how big is your pump?
those misters need 22gph flow.
18x22=396 min
also how far are they from the misters.

my suggestion is bigger pump or less misters... and make sure the stems ARE getting wet (stems too short, sprayer direction...!

i use a 18gal rubbermade
258 gph pos pump
8 360 misters
34 sites
roots 5-12 days 98% success rate.

ph doesnt matter, temp you want warmer than normal, low light until roots show.

but i also say if your rock wool was working why change it.

also pull half and go mad scientist on the other.

the moms are over 3 months old.

i've never read anything about the humidty dome for the aerocloner, thats what i would put on the rapid rooters/rockwool.

how do i check for N?

they dont look deficient at all.

i have the same pump you do.

but they still shoot out plenty of water. all the neoprenes and stems are gettin some actions.

i dont think the flow of water is the problem here. if i lift any of those neoprenes the misters shoot the water out of the res, thats why i doubt its a problem with pump size or amount of misters.

i changed to the aero cloner because i didnt want to have to take the time to put rooting hormones on the cutting, and i wanted 99-100 percent rate. which i notice is the norm for these cloners. and also because i wanted to see roots in 5-12 days instead of 12-20 days.

not deficient!! sometimes the moms are mature enough that they are gettin full strength N and that can lead to slow/hard rooting problems!! the dome was jus tryin to keep more humidty on them..as you know ...so i was jus sugg'in it cant hurt..kno what i mean!! the girls have still got to be kick'n if they're still green!! giv 'em the benefit of the doubt!!

Well it looks like you have plenty of advice to fix your situation but if you still plan to give it up then let me know I am interested in getting a new aero cloner.:bigjoint:

I use an ez cloner and I put clonex in the water and it seems to work fine. I have been having roots in 10-14 days. I was wandering about running them with water only but if that is what you have been doing I am not sure I want to.

Is this your first time using your aero cloner with this batch of cuttings? Some strains take 3+ weeks to show roots. Some clones take longer if they have thicker, more aged stems. Give it some more time:leaf:

I run my ph at 5.3 to 5.8 with a cloning liquid added per manufacturers instructions and use RO water always have roots by the 10th day. when I take cuttings I put them in a bucket of RO water with the cloning solution in it and let them soak for 30min to 1 hour before they go in to the cloner. This always works

thanks for all the great advice....

so its to my understanding that more thinner, newer, less hard(barky) stems on the cuttings are prone to root faster?

The fancy science term is unlignified.

thanks my nig for the terminology...
i love expanding my vocabulary.

I had some sour cream that took damn near 3 weeks once needless to say I am not using that strain again.

that sucks because i really wanted to do the sour bubble.

what strains work really well in the cloner?

I have the same problem. Could be ur strains I'm at the 4 week margine. Some rooted some pushin roots, a few nuffing. Trust me I was pissed after I built this thing amd weeks went by with nuthin. My first cpl strains wouldn't root at all. The good thing about these cloners is that u don't have to babysit them and u can see the progress. U jus set them in and that's it. No spraying and shit like that, just to see them die 2 weeks later. As for the sprayers, the presure mite not be high enuff or that there's too many sprayers and ur stems r gettin too wet. I ended up putting my areocloner in the veg room as a vegger and a used a DWC tote as a buble cloner cuz mine were getting too wet. Seems to be working better and the rooted plants r enjoying the sprayer/oxgen raitio in the veg room more the the dWC tote that's now my cloner. I've tried rooting gels, they jus wash off. Perhaps letting them sit in a cup of gell overnite? I have also cut back on nitrogen levels in my mom a week prior to cutting. Good luck, I feel ur pain. I'm so far behind schedual due to rooting issues

LA con took 4-6 days to root, cannasutra took about 6-7 days...
you can clone pretty much anything ( i did an orange tree once),

it just requires patience and planning, lets face it if you sell even an ounce of the stuff you are running a small business, so you need to make sure you have stuff in the pike ready to follow on...
as long as the leaves look good let them go. i like to reduce light until they get roots as i figure i dont want them doing photosynthesis they got no roots they got no food i dont want them to try to grow until they got some roots.

You could also go to the local homedepot/lowes/ mega home store and buy some foam rigid insulation panels and make a raft cloner....
