I froze my buds after mites hatched during drying.......

...could not find any info on this topic....outdoor buds looked great 2 days into drying...on the 3rd day they were crawling with mites.........I froze a bud for 30 minutes,pulled it out and looked again and they were all DEAD.....I checked for movement hours later for re-animation and still all dead, no movement......I know to handle the bud very gently cause trichomes freeze,....are there any negative consequences that I need to know before I freeze it all ( for half an hour or so)....and any other techniques would help....thanks yall...

so, in case anybody cares....the freakin mites re animated and came back to life after 2 hours out of the freezer......now testing overnight freeze,...just for research and because I have no other options....I think...

i dont know why mites would attack dry plant matter,there is nothing to eat,go buy a cheap houseplant and set it beside your dry buds,i bet the mites will go right to it...

I think an over night freeze should handle them. I just chopped my plant this morning after throwing the towel against nature.

The bugs were working a number on her. My lady jinxed my garden A couple days ago and blam.... She was the martyr.

Hopefully what ever bugs remain cease activity.

Another option is a water cure and it works well for a personal stash. I gave it a go with a couple zips and the smoke was acceptable.

when you freeze insects You do nothing to them. they just go into the sleep mode.

in your situation, hang plant upside down, mites will go to top of plant, burn with lighter regularly till all gone.
Also, put tanglefoot at each end of hanging wire or they will just crawl down the wall over to your next grow

...so, everyone is in jars now, but I noticed , like you said,......they all massed at the end of the stems when hung long enough...took the lighter to em !! there were so many they looked like clumps of brown sugar...no webbing though..on to curing phase

I think they hatched after harvest, and they all moved to the end of the stems...en mass, to be killed by fire.now in jars ..thanks for the idea!
