What is incomprehensible is wasting valuable time building a light to save a few bucks. Maybe Your is worthless, mine is not.
LOL. Building let's you customize to your space. And allows you to learn how to take care of your light...

I bought befor I built too.. Light breaks mid grow and you didn't spend the time to learn .. Well your going out to buy a new one and I'm going to replace a 10 dollar strip.. Lol

My time is very valuable too. But I put in the effort to learned and build my own.

But hey. If you've got more money than you know what to do with go nuts. Just stay away from Amazon.

Hlg has good deals. But seriously. The strip light took a few hours and all the info is out there. And it cost about 1/3 the cost

If you don’t pay any attention to ANYTHG else. Look into the skimmer to evaluate the feasibility of integration to your particular setup. It makes outdoor look like indoor. I’m all about the help, that’s my mission believe it or not, especially to legal Cardholding people I save from haveing to buy State produced at $130/ml(oil)or whatever their preferred method is. And NO insurance company will cover it cuz the FDA and Robert DuPont are criminals. I do APOLOGIZE if I came off like dicks I hate, but being frustrated still after waiting my life for legalization, then have negativity running so rampant, so quickly only served to feed my frustration. I don’t know everything, but I know what I see with my own eyes.

I can assure you that the light I built is £ for £ (or $ for $) is better than 90% of the lights available on eBay/amazon.

And how can make any assumption about the quality and/or capability of it without knowing anything about it?
I didn't realise you are a psychic as well as a cannabis expert.

Most recently, Im about 18,000 hrs into a Kind 1000, programmed to gradually come on low with color times and intensities varied appropriately per/a lot, Later the blue getsjacked, reds and whites lowered some, along with overall intensity (depending on a lot again) no issues with that phenomenon you spoke of. Explain if you’re so inclined? Or a link with verifiable data. Ty for a non mean post

Bud.....it’s chips and lenses and circuitry EVERYBODY has access to and employs. Did you go and grow a magic beanstalk in your yard, where you climb up and get components nobody else has access to?. Ok then your statement has me at a loss. I do apologize.

forget cheap LED lights! One of mine just crashed out on my today!
A 315w CMH would rock that grow space for you and there not that much money at all... Just get one with a remote ballist and keep it out of the room
I have in total since having my cheap LED ,Mars Hydro pulled 29 Oz from 5 Grow ,Light cost me 50 odd quid ,If i was to have sold that bud it would have sold for min of 4 1/2 grand not bad for a set up that cost me around 150 Quid for the full set up.Running cost are real low,Don't get me wrong if i was not using hps to get the full amount i need to last then i would up grade,I got the light just to test ,i still use it now.For the money i bought another for if it goes down, but seems to be running sound,Plus Mars are pretty good.I'm sure if you contacted them if the light went down they would sort it out ,but for the money ,and what you get from it ,i just get another,I loved it that little unit has allowed me to do strains i would have not normally run,or used it to test strains out so far every one has been great.I have Blueberry Gum under it at the Minute ,vegging they love it and in flower.I know there are better lights out there,But has long has it keeps throwing me 5/6 oz every so often im happy with that .My main weight comes from my main room ,with 2 hps lights in ,But its been great for flavors ,Did Pineapple Express in it 2 grows ago that was some of the best smoke i have tasted,Same with Moxies Lemon cake

I highly, And I DO MEAN HIGHLY value and appreciate your service to the highest degree that words can express. And believe me that is NOT lip service. I tried to join Army Infantry as a young man but was rejected for a screw that was inserted after a football injury. I have, a 2 cancer, 1anxiety,1 Parkinson. I wish I knew a Vet that needed the kind of help I’m equipped to provide.

you have to look at the fact that those manufactures use the cheapest possible components. That have the worst efficiency rating possible. Usually they use epistar 3 watt chips and stuff about 150 or so in. Or worse yet some no name chip that has worse efficiency than others. Now if you check out Cree, vero, bridgelux, citizen cobs you can see not only does one chip handle more power but they’re capable of giving you more of a specific spectrum of light. Thus the power you put in watt for watt will become more efficient, have more penetration for the power put in. Let’s face it your now going to get 1000 watt performance at 150 or even 200 Watts.

I heard Mars are pretty good. I have never tried them myself. Also Ive never heard any non company data on them. I simply would not blindly discount any light (within reason).

A feel a combination of 3 and 5 watt chips with 90 and 120 angles do nicely. I’ve run single end 1000 Vs Kind 1000 , I like my prog spectrum controll. (with a SPECIFIC high quality feed regimen of my own design) applies to both rooms with the same conditions and strains and the yield difference was negligible in favor of a street lamp, plus ya better change those bulbs, and run off 220 or you definitely lose, density, sugar production, calyx to leaf ratios, terpene and cannabinoids levels all better. I know this because when I fractionally distill to get PURITY, (granted I don’t have cryogenic liquid) but when I processed and collected, more terps AND cannabinoids were in the respective collection flasks. That’s incontrovertible proof. Right or wrong?

You said originally "What is incomprehensible is wasting valuable time building a light to save a few bucks. Maybe Your is worthless, mine is not."

I replied to tell you that my light isn't worthless, performs better and is cheaper to make than the majority available to buy on Amazon/eBay.

What do you not understand?

Somehow I feel as though your lost thinking that I’m pushing hid lighting. Do you understand what cob’s and quantum boards are?

I’m just sayin it’s not better just because you put the parts, the same parts everybody else uses, together. You bought the same parts as most lights use. I certainly see the value in replacing components if you are inclined and talented in that capacity. LED have remarkable life spans, especially ones with a programmable spectrum if used properly. I’m sorry, I have a couple fired up posters, maybe I read yours wrong or maybe I should just lay off the JUUL with this wheelchair vape oil. Haha

Yeah the cob are those round configured modules or clusters right? I thought they were old 1st and 2ng gen stuff? Quantum professes to be more efficient, less amperage draw, wide wattage ranges, they get hot tho don’t they? Need additional heat syncs and fans.... no? If I have data to support from a controlled side by side evaluation, I’ll try anything to better the deal for everybody. Educate me

Btw I do realize these are LED variations and components of led fixtures. You mentioned 1000w I guess I broke my own rule and assumed you meant HPS/MH.

Fuck leds, last years rippoff hype, were so over that crap now.

Rather ten magnetic 400watt hps for the same price as building a 1000watt led.

Hype talk....

And I do understand you cannot get out of something that isn’t there. Like expecting to yield with 300 Watts what you would with 1000. I would never argue that EXCEPT against (single end) hid guys and only in terms of current draw comparing a HPS 1000 (even fed by 220) to Kind 1000. I guess I am lost or overthinking.

No cobs are newer everyday they’re like night and day compared to the age old burple lights new burples included. There’s loads of information especially in the led section. Quantum boards builds are even better from my understanding thus why I purchased some that I’ll be using next grow. With kind I’m not sure when you bought yours but I got the xl1000 when it came out. That light cost me somewhere in the ball park of 1700 bucks. You can buy several prebuilt cob lights or qb’s for that price and even more if you diy. All leds have heatsinks minus now you can run the quantum boards with passive cooling no fans needed. Look at you kind it has 8 fans on it and heat sinks. You can see there it has the fans. like I said I’ve owned or still own these lights some just have been repurposed.
