cripes man... what cfm is your fans? are you ducting from outside? whats the ambient temp for where your intake comes from?

wow, yeah your gonna run into major issues with temps that high.

unless you can find a strain that thrives in that kind of environment.. good luck with that tho.

This is why I took this into consideration before purchasing my lighting system.

I thought about heat issues before purchasing.. and ended up purchasing two 150watt Sunsystems S55 HPS systems. This way, I have the

wattage of a 300 watt system, while only using two 150watt HPS lights.. but.. see I also have less heat issues. Why? Well, because I

thought of it like this.. one 150watt HPS light isn't going to put out too much heat. Which, is true. So, I figured.. alright.. well I'll just

buy two 150watt HPS light systems.. for a total of 300 watts.. but with minimal heat output. Ya dig? My tempatures with lights on, stay

right at around 75`F - 80`F and my plants just love it!!

I also have two fans in the grow area though, big fans too. Not some computer fan... I'm talking about, eh the bigger one of the two fans

is probably a 15" fan; the other one, the smaller of the two, is probably an 8 or 10" fan.. but with those two, turned on, and put on the

"medium" setting.. they keep my "lights on temps" in check.

Good luck with yours man.. you may want to think about getting an inline light cooler.. or "fan light". Whatever they're called damn it.. LOL.

Peace.

not sure about the cfm on the fans but i am ducting from out side and pushing hot air back outside, the room temp is about 69-72 but its a small room with bad air flow so im moving it today to a bigger room with low temps and better a flow i will keep you posted

I

DO I NEED TO PUT THE EXAUST DUCT RIGHT IN THE LIGHT HOOD.
Yes, there should be a duct on both sides of the hood, mine has 6 inch ducts.....grab some flexible dryer hose and hook a length up to each duct on your hood, you can secure it w/ zip-ties (easier than those metal clamps)

Hook your fans up to the other end of the hose......if your fans are different CFM's, put the stronger as the exhaust and you should be all set....i have the same style hood w/ a 400 watt HPS and the plants can get around 1 inch from the glass and not burn, i dont even use an intake fan, just exhaust.

chrome domes or gavita bulbs have the reflector built in the bulbs. That way you dont need all the reflectors, glass, ducting, fans, and a big cluster fuck of gear hanging in the room. No trapped heat either... Just point a fan at them and that is it. I usually run two,400watters, in a 4x8 tent, with no heat issues. I thought i was "down grading" from a 1000 watt on a mover, turns out I was upgrading.:leaf:

you have a few options:
1. decrease the temp of the intake air
2. increase the flow rate of the air into/out of your grow area
3. increase the size of your grow area
4. use a more effective cooling media i.e. water cooling vs. air cooling
5. decrease the rate of heat production
6. maximize the efficiency of the ventilation - cold air intake at the bottom, hot air out at the top
