Count the holes in the canvas to know where to put the colors....? :wall:
It's A LOT of counting. The canvas is always blank first - I think?
yeah meta, i'm far from a pro, but from what i understand, there's counted cross stitch, which is just a blank canvas that you have to count each hole and go off of a pattern, and then there's cross stitch that already has the pattern on the canvas, and you just do the cross stitch right over the pattern... yeah, i just checked with a pro, lol.. counted, no pattern, normal has the pattern on the canvas already..

I used to sign my pieces. Actually I did 2 Huuuuuge ones, for each of my serious ex boyfreinds. They took months to do. And are probably both ashes in a fire at this point in time.

Guess you gotta make sure you're giving them to someone who won't end up hating you.

hahahahaha

I have ex's who I don't like that gave me things I still own. I appreciate the gesture, even if I no longer appreciate the person.

Oooooh, maybe my heart-felt stitching renditions of "with or without you" and also "Hallelujah" are only collecting dust in a closet - and not burned in effigy....

fingers crossed

yeah, i tend to agree with meta, and think one would have to be a pretty cold hearted douche bag to burn something an ex gave you, especially if it was something hand made that took a lot of time.. i still have all sorts of weird shit from ex's some where or another..
my mom knitted a blanket for an ex gf of mine, even after we were broken up... her mom just told me a few months ago that she still uses it.. we were at her mom's dropping off a new baby blanket and baby clothes my mom knitted for her new baby at the time..

My last ex broke into my e-mail account and read pages upon pages of an online diary I had been writing to myself in order to work up the nerve to break up with him.

In his readings, he probably came across many things that would be impossible to forget, such as the deconstruction of his personality and very negative statements about the size of his manhood and sexual prowess.

Some things you just can't unsee...

I guess figuratively, I kind of did take his penis as a trophy.

I believe that cross-stitch is burned, or in a dumpster.

Maybe that should be a new scale in bad break-ups?

Sandra: "It was a really messy break--up"

Yessica: "Yeah, but was it burn-your-cross-stitch bad?"

hahahahaha.

Hey @april - I SWEAR I was cross stitching your face waaaaaaay before I came on here...

bahahahaha - I felt the need to say that. If not - the whole "thousand hour cross-stitch" would seem REEEEEAAAALLLLY creepy...
