I Am So Proud of My Son...

We got a tour of the USS Frank Cable tonight, right? Well he has duty today so he was in uniform of course. As he was escorting us off the boat, he turned and saluted the flag. Then! As we were on the pier they had "evening colors" (lowering of the flag). As they were lowering the flag I stood beside my son as he stood there facing the flag and saluted. I was so impressed and proud of him....<sigh>

Thanks folks. I even told my son afterward how much it meant to me.

And Snooks...I'd like to thank you for your service as well.

:D Have I mentioned how GOOD he looked in his uniform? 8) It was pretty cool to see him being saluted by others, too. And today he gets to chew trou on someone who screwed up some very important inspections.

However, while probably his easiest and most pleasurable accomplishment, my favorite, to date, is his production of one GORGEOUSLY beautiful baby girl, even if it does make me a grandmaw.

He sounds like a good respectfull kid. Kinda makes me wish i turned out better j/k sort of. I have little respect for the governmen but the utmost (spelling) respect for the people who serve our country.

:) Gosh... thank you, dear. I had very little hand in how this kid has turned out, though (we have to be honest here).

You spelled 'utmost' correctly, ITYSB.

:D

Something tells me the cap'n of the boat wouldn't appreciate his sailors singing that tune, but I sure love it. Along with the one my dad used to sing, "Shrimpboats are Comin'". 8) And that whole "yo ho ho and a bottle of rum" bit, too.
