so my questions are.

1)how easy is it can a 1st time grower do it ?
2)what are the dos & don't ?
3)what are the pros & cons ?
4)how does it compare to soil growing ?
5)how much would it cost to get started on hydroponics /is it cheaper then soil growing?

6)is it worth to consider hydroponics?
7)can you grow any strain of herbs in it?
8 )what do you guys recommend soil growing or hydro overall based on how easy it is the price & the end product?

i hope you guys can help me out with my questions & please add anyother info you may have that i didnot list thank you.

ps. i love this site everyone is so helpful & nice i haven't yet seen anyone be rude. is like a big happy family in here

It's worth enough to do research on it.

You can grow any strain. Sometimes plants are so different when grown differently they are known as two different strains. Like Chem/Dawg a strain that was considered as the Chem if grown with chemicals or Dawg if grown organically. Or I read too much internet.

Soil isn't expensive, but I don't consider it easier than hydro. The plant speaks to you faster on hydro than on soil. Nutrients are changed like changing the water in a fish bowl(In DWC that is).

As far as cheap. DWC Hydro can be pretty darn cheap. You could go super basic:
Bucket - few bucks
Airpump - 10 bucks
airline tube - few bucks
air stone - few bucks
net pot - couple bucks
medium - couple bucks

You could even go super basic on the nutrients and just get a 1part like Oneness
(if you really wanted to do straight Oneness from humboldt nutrients you would probably want to change the ph to lockout nitrogen during flowering

wow thanks your info is great thanks for the help btw do you know the best place to learn about hydro ?i am really interested.

the aerogarden section. also go to hydrofarm.com they probably have a listed retailer near you. pay cash. have a friend take you. wear a hat. but don't be sketchy! lol

Also go here and look at this stuff.

I more so consider it a two part base line with grow being Ginormous.
After a month of flowering Ginormous might be the only thing in the reservoir, as most of the time people might drop the Oneness to drop out the nitrogen.

Dude, i have no idea what proper paranoid precautions you should take. That's totally personal. But thanks. Also seriously the Aerogarden is like a mini tote. Flawed in so many ways, but amazing for learning. I heard they upgraded their pump too. Although a step up for their old pumps is still garbage, so they better have made a decent improvement. Some are recirculating deep water culture and some are just deep water culture. they show that something as common and sterile as a sponge can be used as a medium. Their reservoirs are 1gal. I recommend starting with just 1gal reservoirs(something like a bucket) so that the measurments per gallon are easy to compute. This is of course 1gal per plant. You could always but a new bucket and transplant the lid easily with DWC.

you can totally increase your yeild and speed harvest time in hydro.. but it can be costly if you dont do your homework first.. my suggestion to you would be buy a light and some fans and start with one of the many cheap and easy DIY systems you can easily make.. learn with that and plan for the system that fits your needs..

so hydro can be better then soil growth? when it comes to yield & harvest speed ?

When it comes down to everything Hydro will dominate. People will argue saying the quality isn't as good, that you can't grow organically in hydro, but they sell organic hydroponic nutrients now. They are on the shelves of your local hydro store. So maybe it's false advertising and you can't grow organically in hydro. Or maybe technology has changed a brick ton since the first hydroponic system thousands of years ago in the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

If you want something as easy as hydro with the quality roots of hydro, go with coco. It's the same as soil, except there are no nutrients in it. So what ever nutrients you do feed, those are the only ones the plant is getting. Also use a root pot or smart pot. They are made of fabric and breathe better for the roots. Infact they stop whats known as root circling by air pruning roots before they can spriral out of control on the bottom.

A root pot- $3.00 or smart pot = $5.00

a brick of coco = $2.50

Oneness is still good for coco-
16 oz = 13$
