saw your link on the strawberry thread, had to come see what youre up to. looks great, but i'll tell you the same thing i told billyraymond - those tomatoes will get huge. bigger than any pot plant would, because they dont stop growing when they are producing fruit. you might want to think about training them to grow right against the walls of your space, that way you can get your other, less aggressive plants some light too. also, if they're trained against the wall, it will be easier to support them (just tie em to the wall.) but like i said, looks great, i'm subscribing. check out the strawberry thread to see my rigged, 'zero-footprint' strawberry pot. it attaches right to the wall.

Its that time of the week, so here are my plants .... i luv this hydro growing, all i do is check to see if the rez is getting low once a week, everything is on a timer, and man look at this growth.

U DO NOT KNOW HOW BAD I WANT TO GROW MJ
but sadly i can not at the moment....

i would encourage anyone thinking about hydro to go out and make one.. they are not really that hard to make at all and with a few timmer u can "set it and forgetg it" hahah is like that infomercial

Looking good there Rhino!
Don't get too frustrated with the growth. Mine took over a month to break the foot mark and I'm using a 400W with soil. Once you flip to 12/12 they will grow like crazy.

i think next week they will be crazy huge well the tomatos at least... im still trying to figure out the best way to propr the tomatos up.. i was thinking get a string and tie it to the top of my cab and to an ancor on the platform the plants are on.. for each plant that it.. just seem like alot of work and i dont want to ger sawdust in my rez

I WISH I STARTED IN ROCKWOOL it would have cut the time in half... because they only really started to grow when i put them in the system

Tomatoes
well the tomatos are really agressive growers taking up all the free space
the tomatos have all sent out a producing branch with flowers should have a lot of small tomatos here any day now. I even moved 2 plants out to make room for the strawberries. it would have been a jungle if i didnt.

Peppers

the peppers are finialy getting taller now. they stayed short and bushy for a while i probly should have pruned of the lower branches when they started to grow. still no sign of flowers but i expect that because i am using veg nutes and a 16 hour light cycle

Strawberries

not much to say about them except they grow slow. i have seen flowers but they never produced fruit yet?? any ideas

the pepers are now forming buds

a quick question about the strawberries they flower and form these little green strawberry, but after that they just stop growing

i think i read somewhere straw berries dont really produce much the first year

or

it could be my 16 hour light cycle and still using veg nutes, because it seems like it takes the tomatoes forever to open there flowers

um yea i guess the peppers when crazry after i kicked the tomatos out to the yard.

WOW.... i have over 17 open flowers and at least 40-50 more buds getting bigger every day.... not bad for cfls, but its probly just the hydroponics making up for my getto light

the 2 smaller pepper plants where sprouted at the same time as the other the only diffrence was they where in soil

now u know how much hydroponics can give back to u after spending a little money

i mean if they where MARY-JANE thats a huge diffrence and there peppers that grow slower

the strawberries are growing fruit now but they are still small but grow a little everyday, and for some reason they are whit hmm idk..

i dont even know why im typeing this its not like people have posted in the past three pages

Looking Good Rhino!
You have more blooms on your peppers than I do. I haven't watered mine on a schedule, so they've dropped most of the blooms. At least you're doing the veggies some justice. I'm getting lazy. I keep telling myself that I'm going to put them outside, but I just haven't had the time(not true).

Interested to see how the strawberries turn out!

:wall:

you guys know thats not actually the rez its a flood trey :oim testing how a suspended ebb/flow would work:shock:.. its fail safe because if it ends up the roots dry out to fast from the air i can just fill the trey with clay pebbles and turn it into a reg ebb/flow.. ill get a better pic so you know what im talking about.

and ill have weekly plant updates starting monday
I was wondering how you had peppers going in hydro. Mine always seem to like it on the dry side (they get watered almost half as much as my MJ). I might throw one in the little DWC bubbler I have once there is nothing in it. Curious to see if it would work out. Here's my peppers I have going right now (14 strains).

Keep up the good work

well my system is not a DWC it basicly a ebb& flow with no medium. i control how many times a day they get watered so they dont sit in water all day.

when i was setting up my system i flooded the trey then let it drain i timed how long it took for the roots to dry(still a little moist) and came up with this

waterings

6am for 8 min - lights go on
10am for 8 min
2pm for 8 min
6pm for 8 min
10om for 8 min - lights go off

i dont know if i run the floods longer the plants will soak up more nutes but its working for me now so i wont touch it

haha ill take a picture of the first one.. i think i found out why it is so small and growing slow.

the stem that conects to the strawberry is like pine needle thin. the new flowers have stems about 4x that size.

my guess is the bigger the feeding stem the bigger the strawberry

View attachment 988898Its been a while sorry but fell of this thread, but heres a up date i have had to cut the peppers back twice.
Looking awesome. Mine have a couple peppers that are actually growing but flowers opening everywhere and a bunch more buds starting. They are all about 14-16" now. Can't wait for these first ones to ripen up.
