I use separate buckets for mine, which I think has the advantage of being able to separate the plants if needed. That's impossible in a shared res. And you should probably grow only one strain in a shared res, since different strains have different nutrient requirements.

As to those models you linked to, my only comment is that judging by the size of the hands that appear in the videos/pictures, those pots look REALLY close together. My separate buckets meant I had about two feet between the centers of the pots, and that seemed a little tight. The shared res looks like the pots are about 8 inches apart at the centers. Doesn't seem to be much room for growing, let along topping and lsting.

Just my 2 cents...

Yes I have , and it was a BIG Newb mistake. I wouldnt reccomend any of thses type of shared res , only if your a super vet that knows there strain and have had experience with it.
It is a big headache to clean and change res , same strain or not someone is going to be the dominant gril and debo all the nutes.. They grow to close together etc..
I ahve the 16 pod site and a friend of mines has 2 8pos sites , hes lazy and it just bit him in the butt. He grew 4 girls in his 8 pod site , by week 6 they were halfway dead
the roots strangled each other. He had tp pull them early ALL the fan leaves were yellow , Every sinlge one..

I also grow in individual buckets , much easier and much more effective for me..
