Hydro Questions

As you may know, I want to gather as much info as possible til I feel comfortable to try a hydro grow. I have come up with a plan that seems really, really, really simple, its a dwc system that I'll make myself. there are no pumps, only an airstone or two. I'm thinking somewhere between 4-8 plants, I havent figured out yet the optimal amount yet to grow under my 400 watt light, any suggestions on this one? I'm afraid it might be 4.

The other thing I am, confused on is the nutes. Are nutes different, I mean lets say I have some foxfarm left over from my soil grow, can I use them, or should I be using "special" nutes just for hydro?

Do you have any comments on going dwc?
Peace

Foxfarm makes nutes for soil and hydro. I would use the one they say to use.

For passive hydro systems like DWC, think about using a separate system for each plant, so you can move them around easily. Kinda like GH's waterfarm, which is separate drip buckets.
