hi guys just a quick question.. is it true that hydro if grown right will always be better than soil potency wise?

also if you grind up some pure indica weed and then some pure sativa weed mix it together and roll a joint what would the outcome be? anyone ever tried this?

Completely untrue and I grow hydro...The potency is predominantly determined by genetics.

If you ground up sativa and indica weed in a joint and rolled it and smoke it you would get high. What would you expect to happen?

Man, it's like smoking weed. If you sprinkled it with coke or something you might get a different effect, but a joint to the face is a joint to the face.

if grown properly hydro and soil will have the same potency.
however, growing hydro correctly is much easier than growing in soil correctly.
hydro have charts for everything. you should just follow them.
soil is another story.

cool thanks for the info guys. i was seriously considering hydro cause i thought it would make the weed better... variables may be easier to control in hydro but i was really not looking forward to the extra work hydro requires. now im exited i can just sit back and watch my weed grow!

i have done organic soil, soil less, and hydro (dwc)

i gotta say the soil tastes GREAT for sure. and if u have a good compost or tea mix then it can be as easy as keeping ur plant watered. no fertilizing just topping off with more manure or what ever u use.

soil less or hydro u will yield more and grow a bit faster, potency will be determined by the strain tho. taste is not as good as the soil and the bud in hydro (dwc) takes alittle longer to dry.

this is my experience so far, not fact just experience.

good luck

Learning to master soil can take time. And I spend hours upon hours in my garden working with my girls. Ill say in my opinion the more plants you grow there is benefit of compacting grow space with hydro.my pots take up a lot of space.

I'm moving to coco\perlite on this grow (had a few test runs) and its pretty much the same work for me, except you need to water more if your not running automated watering.

I just put my water in the bucket, add 5ml\L of Hesi Coco (for flowering and vegging but I use it only for flowering. don't know why, it works great for both), PH your solution ot 5.8-6.2 and water your plants until you see runoff.
In the last 4 weeks I add PK, starting 0.25ml\L and up to 4ml\L (much above recommanded, but if they take it I let them) at the last watering. Then a flush, 5 days of clean water and chopchop.

In soil I have way more fertilizers (the biobizz line - biogrow, alg-a-mic, biobloom, topmax, bioheaven and root juice) and still need to PH my solution, just to another value (6.6-6.8).

However, in soil I water half the times I do with my coco\perlite.

The coco\perlite plants i have are growing way faster, way healthier and way bigger.
They DO taste inferior, but yield over twice the emount.

I ran with only Hesi coco and PK through the flowering phase of 2 plants I grew and no deficiency have shown. Didn't had to work extra hours or mix lots of nutes.

I never checked EC, don't have a meter and don't care about it. I know the tap water are high in EC. Thats about it.
When people get all sorts of stuff to work with hydro they might want to check EC to maximize stuff.
I don't. I get along just fine without it.

I grew in soil and in coco\perlite (soil less) and I have the exact same experience.

I might have stayed with organics if amendments were available, but they aren't.

WHAT ! EASIER?? Hydro???

No way! It might take awhile to zero in on your soil mix (100% organic) but, once you've found that sweet mix..WATER only rules!!

No testing pH.
No measuring anything.

Simply water and walk away!

Take a look at Phil K's thread. His are water only organic runs!
https://www.rollitup.org/t/wheres-the-real-growers-bring-your-a-game-to-this-post.869354/

See the "burnt tips"? This tells me he is "pushing" his plants and has the mix dialed in for all phase's of growth.
To finish the best they can with no "spiking" or adding amendments for P&K in late bloom!

Same with mine....click on the B in my avatar.
P.S. The "wash" is an inside "joke" as all they got is water!

This is organic, water only grows at their best!

In water only. It's water only!
Like I said. NO adding anything! How is that more work?

So then, How would YOU like to try some water only soil, without having to mix it yourself?

Try Phil K's soil from here..
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S1HRLPQ

I have been talking with him and am going to try his mix for fun and profit, side by side, with mine.
Hell, it's always easier to get it then to make it....I'll have to breakdown the cost of mine vs. his and maybe simply go to his in 55gallon drums!
