HYDRO NFT EASYRYDER 400w HPS

My Setup​
  • 400w HPS light​
  • Secret Jardin DS80 Grow Tent​
  • 125mm Rhino Carbon Filter​
  • 125mm RVK Inline Fan​
  • Grodan Rockwool Cubes​
  • 2 X Gro-Tanks NFT GT205i (20Ltrs)​
  • Spreader Mat for Tray in Tanks​
  • 2 X Micro-Jet MC320 Recirculating Pumps​
  • 175mm Clip on Fan​
Nutrients​
Method

I germinated 8 EasyRyders (Joint Doctors) in a damp paper towel and put em in a airtight bag and put it in my airing cupboard. Temp in there is about 25*C.
They took about 40 hours to all pop to a point where i could place em into (moist not soaked) 1 inch rockwool cubes. I put them under a 18w fluro tube for 2 days until the seed head was off and then put them under my 400w hps in my tent and put the light 36 inches away. After another two days i transplanted them into 3 inch rockwool cubes because the tap roots were peepin out of bottoms. I placed the girls in my Gro Tanks on the tray with spreader mat underneath, put lid on, turned on my pumps (which are set to about 40% flow which is about 100 litres an hour) and then fed my babies with quarter strength Topflower Grow Nutrients 1ml per litre.
They are looking ok so far and i have been lowering my light a couple of inches a day but im not gonna lower it lower than 24inches away until they have at least 3 sets of leaves out. Reckon by 2 weeks I should be able to lower it down more.
Gonna increase nutes to half strength at around the 12th day.

oh shit i'm in. You , me and Growlow started our autoflowering plants around the same time. they are all about the same size. this is good stuff, you two in NFT i'm in DWC. looks like NFT is doing better so far. too early to tell still though. you using VitaLink Nutes ... those seem to do very well for autoflowers. I might have to get some. from the looks of it your using a bit of nute in the seedling stage. curious...

forgot to ask. what are your ppms and ph at? during this stage and what is your recommendation for ppms / week throughout the easyryder grow?

Hey Greenman,
Glad to av u onboard m8. My pH is running at 6.5. As for ppm of my nutes.... not too sure..
I do know the NPK value is 22:15:27 for my veg nutes which are B.A.C Hydro Grow. The concentration is 1 : 250 so 4ml per litre is full strength.
My bloom nutes are Vitalink Max Bloom and the NPK is 10:9:19 and also 4ml per litre is full strength.

Girls are 9 days old today and think im gonna increase me nutes to half strength on around day 12. Im gonna keep em on half strength all the way through veg until they show sex which is around 21 days coz they only have a short veg period and official JD grow guide says treat em like seedlings for first 2-3 weeks. Just to be cafeful.

Gonna start bloom nute on quarter strength for 3rd week, half strength for weeks 4 and 5, full strength for weeks 6, 7 and 8. Quarter strength for week 9 and then flush with pH balanced water for last 7 to 10 days..

Hey Greenman,,

Just worked it out.. At this stage of grow... Quarter strength nutes are: Nitrogen PPM is 218, Phosphorous is 65 PPM and Potassium is 222 PPM

Total dissolved solids is 505 PPM

Well i've heard its ideal to fluxuate Ph as different nutrients are readily absorbed at different Ph's. I've read that its best to set your Ph at 5.6 and let it flux up to 6.1 , then Ph down it again back to 5.6 that way your plant has a chance at absorbing any nutrients it needs without having to work for them.

If anyone knows the answer to this question though its budslinger. Any thought BS?

Hey peeps.
One of my girls has leaf curl. Only got first two sets of leafs out but bouth are curled right under. Wierd as other three girls in same rez are fine. Any ideas???? Will post pic later on

Got exactly the same pal is it by any chance where the vents on side of tent are???? My two placed near the vent have basically gone under therselves but im guessing/hoping its just the cold air being pulled in through the vent???

Mine almost curling right under, almost right bak on itself.
not sure its that coz mine are the 2 in middle away from vents. Wierd. Been doing bit of reading up and could be overwatering/underwatering, ph probs but mines cool. Could be cool nites though and just 2 weeklings.
