Hydro/Aero-ponic's on a $600 budget?

Hey, first off just wants to say I'm new here :) Have been lurking awhile just trying to educate myself as much as possible.

So here's the deal....I grew out of soil back in college, both indoor & outdoor with mixed results. Had some decent success (wasnt looking to sell, just personal usage) but most of all it was just a good learning experience for me. Now that I'm in the real world & have some money I'd like to do it right. Looking at spending around $600 total on a hydro setup.

I figure $250-300 on a 1000W HPS is about right...any suggestions on a good hydrosetup to complement it? I have a full guest room to grow in but would like to not get too out of hand size-wise until I have some experience with the hydro setups. I'd also like to buy something that can be upgraded in the future if need be.

I appreciate any info/ideas/suggestions!

all long as your okay with ordering off the internet... theres a website called stealthhydro (google it) it has tons of supplies and hydro kits, i just ordered form them not too long ago and its totally legit,
as for the lights, ive had much better results with lots of HID flourescents, the red spectrum and the blue spectrum for flowering and vegetative, HPS makes heat a real problem and youd have to do some serious ventilation to avoid making an easy bake oven out of your grow box

Thanks for the input guys. I'm planning on purchasing just about everything over the internet as I live in a pretty remote place...

I've seen the stealth hydro kits & they look pretty good, seems like what you get for the cost though there might be a better system available? I'm pretty set on a solid HPS light...in my experience the light makes all the different in the world.

Thanks again for the responses so far.

forget that stealthhydro noise, that shit looks like it was made in someone (elses) basement.

I would say go with an ebb and flow setup. maybe 2 flood trays, and maybe even reconsider the 1000w for two 600s

If your thinking of going with ebb n flow you can make your own system like bleubeard said for a fraction of the cost that they charge you on that site. Its really easy I just set mine up the other day.
