HYBRID'S Jack The Ripper + Bubba Kush

Well-Known Member
I had previously deleted my journal on my outdoor grow this year, but I am back from a nice vacation and decided to share my first experience with Jack The Ripper:hump: I also threw in a GHS Bubba Kush just for kicks. Both were vegged indoors under flouros until large enough to withstand the elements. They were transplanted from solo-cups to 5 gallon buckets. They quickly outgrew the 5 gallon home, so now they live in 10 gallon pots outdoors and they can't seem to be any happier:hug:

Soil used: FFOF and Light Warrior 2:1 ratio described in Sub's Super Soil Revised.
Nutrients: Fox Farms Big Bloom
Pest control: DynaGro NEEM oil, ladybugs, praying mantis eggs, and to keep varmints away my Pit pisses "on", but never "in" the pots...sometimes I do too:shock:

Pictures will follow in abundance:weed:

Hybrid

These are the some of the earliest pics I have of both plants. As you can see JTR had some killer bugs

These are of the plants in their habitat, and also a few new findings.
JTR may be a boy:shock: I won't say I'm 100% sure, but I'd say I'm looking at a dude. It's odd because I have grown out a few stinky males, but none were ever this smelly. I'll be cloning/pollen collecting for sure!
Feel free to inquire this thread is here until my season is over and I love talkin ganj:joint:

Yeah man the sun grows em big, but there is so many other things that screw them up out there. I will be starting my first indoor grow op in a few months. I want a care free grow and you don't get that outdoors where I live. Thanks for stoppin by mame

Speaking of indoor growing I'm getting a 600 watt HPS cooltube in a few weeks, but cooling, fans, intake, negative pressure, and ducting confuse the piss outta me. I am planning on making a stealth cab that is going to be around 6 feet tall, 3 feet wide, and 2.5-3 feet deep. Do any of you guys think that that sucker will be cooled with this:
http://www.horticulturesource.com/vortex-powerfans-vortex-inline-fan-6-449-cfm-1-to-11-each-p1580/
And if any of you guys want to help me set it up I'll make a new thread or you can just pm me, this will be my first indoor grow and I want to do it right.
I will always believe that nature's way in the sun is the best tho:joint:

Hybrid

Today I discovered even more balls on the JTR dude, as well as an incredibly musky-lemony funk. A few days ago it smelled, but now it reeks hard. I can't let this guy go. I've cut alot of males down, but this one is special IMO and I will let him thrive  I am taking a cut to hold onto for further experimentation and breeding with my other JTR seeds, if he turns out good i'll use his pollen on my keeper female when i get her. I am thankful to have just been able to grow a JTR out next to a GHS Bubba Kush. JTR grew way faster for being three weeks younger, I guess it's just a better plant. As for the Bubba Kush, I did some much needed canopy thinning. It has not shown pre-flowers yet, but from my experiences males show up faster. The Bubba also has a nice odor when you get close, and even better if disturbed. Smells less fruity than my JTR male though. Here are the latest pictures from today's journey. Enjoy bongsmilie

Lookin good brudda... I cant wait to see how the B Kush turns out for ya
Me either man, I have actually never had Bubba Kush. Hoping for dank, but i dunno... I did start some more JTR. It's late this season so they will be little but I want to get some TGA smoke soooo bad. Last stuff i had was Chernobyl and it was killer!

If they're outdoors, ladybugs and praying mantis are just a waste of money. Praying mantis only eat the bigger bugs anyway, they grow pretty fast and ignore anything smaller than an aphid. Ladybugs hibernate in the Fall / Winter so if you put em outside they're just gonna fly away and hide in a tree trunk somewhere.
The praying mantis eventually run away too.

And I remember when praying mantis eggs were only like $5 for 3 egg sacks, now hydro shops try to sell you 1 egg sack for $20.

btw nice plants, they grew so fast in just 10 days. Did you do any training? I can't seem to spot the fan leaves of the main stem, why is that?

oh you topped them.. i see it now.

hey anomolies thanks for coming by. I don't buy the predatory insects they can be a pretty penny, but luckily my yard is crawling with them. Ladybugs, mantids, assasin bugs, and yellow-ladybugs(name?). But yeah some of em stay some of em don't. Between them and the neem oil most bad bugs stay away. Thanks for the compliments, they really do grow up fast. I did have them tied down pretty good(see the holes drilled into the rim of pots), but once they broke free the stems were too thick to re-bend so I just said piss on it and let em grow. Oh yeah and the reason you don't see many interior leaves is because I thin it out pretty good to combat powder mildew. It's really moist and hot here, perfect for that shit. Stay green brotha, here are some old pics of them getting some bondage n the 5gal

Males tend to grow alot faster/stronger/taller than females FYI, thats why the JTR is so much "better". But i think sub selects his males based on smell so you may have a keeper. About the stealth indoor grow. IMO stealth is best achieved with a CO2 system, this way there is no air exchange with the outside. You can also use one of those HYdro Inovations radiator cooler deal with a mini chiler to chill it. Throw in a Profilter carbon filter and your set.

I'm hoping it's a keeper, we'll see. I took a cut. That's a great idea about the CO2. Is it cheaper than buying the fan and materials needed? Thanks man
