Humidity Help

Hey all,

I am about a week into my next grow and I have concerns with low humidity. I am sitting at 15% as I type this. I was not too concerned with it when the other girls were flowering but it sure seems awful low. I have been getting calls for work with machines having issues from low humidity. It is super dry up here in the winter. I had a humdifier in veg for my last grow and it worked well. I had bugd almost the whole first grow. I got rid of the humidifier at flower time. I then used neem oil to kill the bugs. 5 weeks later it started getting really dry so I threw the humidifier back in and it had been sitting fo a month cleaned and dry. Low and behold the very next day there is a couple bugs in the room. I looked in the humidfier and there was one dead one floating and one climbing on the wick filter. So I ditched that sucker and luckily they did not setup shop in the room.

Do you all think that there is much to worry about or could you give me an idea for something I can do to get the humidity up. Maybe a more closed system humidifier. This one was very exposed to water just sitting there. That stupid half moist all the time filter is a magnet for bugs. Thanks for any help.:peace:

hang a wet shirt or towel in the grow room.. my humidity is pretty low (in the 30's) for veg we want about 60-70% humidity and for flowering 40-60%

Think that will pull it up very much? I will give that a try. It is so dry that my dog is shocking me every time she touches me. I can live with that.

might move it up 10% .. i have a hard time keeping it up to. you can also put like a glass of water in the grow room and it will evaporate and help some

Ok , I got off my dead ass and did some research. I settled on an ultrasonic humidifier. It was a little more expensive than the others but it has no filter and no real exposure to standing water. I think this thing will be the ticket for helping my humidity problem without making a safe haven for the damn gnats.:peace:
